steppenwolf Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 It's a good tool for the movies, where they try to show you a story, in a certain way. You don't tale part in the story, you just witness it. In a game, you take part actively, you make decisions based on what you see on screen. You decide where you look and, just like in a real car, you don't have to move your head to have a look in the mirror, or check your gauges. That's why it's wrong. Depth of the field in games are artificial, and try to show you a limited version of what your eyes may do, but have nothing to do with what your eyes and brain are actually doing in game. In the end, in games, except for some cinematic scenes, this is just a gimmick. I dislike the disembodied sterile POV. With them, there's no sense of being in the cockpit. It's just a camera on a swivel. I saw that video of Project Cars and instantly picked up on the 'helmet cam' feature. It modeled the racers body and movements, reactive 'head shake', and DoP; things that make the game feel less gamey IMO, not more. But to each his own. I say the proof is in the pudding, and I'll be picking that game up just for that one feature to see.
Blitzen Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 This may have already been asked & answered if so I apologize for asking again.I now have all mods unlocked as promised but none of the official skins that I haven't unlocked by flying the various plane's campaigns-is this as it should be? I guess I don't mind as most of the time I'm using third party skins , but I would like to see the official skins ,especially on Russian aircraft.
