What would be cool is to have a dedicated camera in the recon plane, maybe similar to the bomb sight, that can zoom in and make high resolution images of the bombing targets and save them (similar to screenshots).

Then have a look at them offline, discuss them with your team mates, mark the targets for bombing on the images and share them with your bomber pilots. The pilots can then open them on a tablet or similar and keep them for reference during the bombing mission (or maybe have a dedicated game screen for intel data, similar to the map screen where you would see photographs and text descriptions of the bombing targets).

It could be done by modifying the bombsight view slightly, so as you say you can use it to line up photos and then press a button to take the image.

You maybe have a limited amount of shots to take as well as you won't have unlimited film.

On landing at an airfield, all friendly pilots could have the option to view the recon photo of that target from the main map before spawning in, with a timestamp to give an idea of how up-to-date the photo is.

That allows everyone to access it through the game interface and provides an obvious incentive to recon pilots to take photos, and to others to defend them.

This would be useful to the team as it would stop multiple players from launching a mass air-raid on a target with only a single building left standing, or conversely to lone-wolf it against a well-defended area, and allows pilots to plan their approach and attacks before leaving the runway.

Sounds awesome!

The BV 141 is pretty insignificant in the scheme of things.

However, the FW 189 was produced in some numbers and would be good.

But there is no point until the recon mechanism is developed.

This doesn't seem very likely at the moment. The direction being taken in IL-2:BoBo is concentrating even more on fast fighters and ground attack, rather than a diversification of roles. Even existing types (transports and high-alt bombers) are still missing important features, so I'm not hopeful at the moment for recon being added.

Regarding Roast's entry earlier in this thread: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/1399-fw-189-bv-141/?p=559432

Blohm & Voss BV 138 Seedrache (Sea Dragon) aka Der Fliegende Holzschuh (the flying clog)
armed with 20mm MG151 in the nose turret and one in the hull tail, or starters

Great images you posted! I'd not seen that BF-138 photo before. Really good view of the aircraft from an unusual angle. It makes you appreciate how tall it was.

Either the BV-138 (or AR-196, also in the image) would be absolutely wonderful... or a Ju 52/3m g5e seaplane, which would be easier to implement.

The Bv 141 is a pointless aircraft, as it saw zero combat.

To tell you the truth it did see service, it was used in training units, FW 189  covered this aerea of aviation cheaper . Still there where some prototypes buildt that worked very well

In this simulator I rather would prefer a FW 189 and a Russian Multipurpose aircraft on the side of PO 2 instead, other than that I wuld really like some oddities to fly

But there is no point until the recon mechanism is developed.

With a PO2 on a future maybe plan I guess you have something like that comming. Recce triggers in missions are possible , Random expert had it in their erlier missions.

I'd love to see artillery spotter and liaison aircraft in the sim. The 189 would be a great choice, although I'd prefer the Storch.

For the allies, make mine a Westland Lysander, please. Night time spy drops and pick-ups in torch lit fields, hedge-hopping to avoid night fighters; good times, good times.

I'd abandon the Ju-52 for a Lysander.

I made a new poll to see if this plane can beat the other candidates ....  :pioneer:
