Recon Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 There has been some confusion on when this is. Some say 'September 1st', others say 'no, that is just the date to order by to get the IL2 rear gunner. Then I see a post by BlackSix saying 'in Russia, autumn starts Sept 1st'. Does that mean it's the last day to pre-order ? Can we get some sort of answer on this from someone who really knows (vs. all the opinions on the board ?) Question is 'What is the last day to pre-order the premium edition'.
FuriousMeow Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 There actually hasn't been any announcement, so yes - would be nice to know for those that haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'll bet that the last day to order the premium edition will be sometime during the premium editions beta pre-release, most likely close to the end of it. So after premium edition pre-release but before the standard edition pre-release.
RAF74_Winger Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Autumn starts on 1st September for most countries in Europe, including Russia. Whether the pre-release game will be ready in time for that, or whether premium orders will be accpted after that date I don't know, but it should give you some idea. W.
Heywooood Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 I hope they are ready for a rush of orders once the deadline is posted... seeing what we've seen though I don't know why anyone would still need a push
TheBlackPenguin Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 No official news, they may not be sure themselves as it could depend on when early access starts and ends for the Premium edition, according to this, "The gift system will be available with the opening of the early access period in autumn 2013 to buyers of all versions." Why am I mentioning the gift system? They would not have mentioned all versions if premium was being pulled. They are likely to sale a lot of premium editions after early access for that edition starts (based on the videos and feedback we're likely to see). This is just a guestimate, both editions available to pre-order right up until release...Pure idle speculation on my part though .

Matt Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Not everywhere. Zak wrote that they consider September 1st as beginning autumn and that's what matters.
VeryOldMan Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 How can anyone decide when the declination of earth relative to the sun reaches a specific mark of equality? pfff....

TetraD Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Autumn starts 21st of setember.... Astronomically. Here in finland where i live that actually matches nearly perfectly with the real autumn beginning. Last year autumn started september 20 in my location. (Autumn in finland starts when the average daily temperature is permanently below 5 C°). But astronomically summer starts 21 june and that does not make any sense even here where summer begins in end of May, and even less in some tropical country.

Here in Brasil we care only for the astronomical date. Since we are the largest north <-> south extension country in world being both in north hemisphere and crossing the tropic of capricorn at same time its literally impossible to call seasons based on weather or luminosity conditions
VeryOldMan Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 (edited) Chile is the longest country north to south. If you count the unhabitated stray islands and emptiness at the south yes... if you count where there are PEOPLE that care bout the concept of autumn live .. not Also chile is almost all under the tropic.. (chile total lenght is 4,630 km, Brazil is 4270 km north to south) Edited August 26, 2013 by VeryOldMan
Recon Posted August 28, 2013 Author Posted August 28, 2013 hard to be an investor in something where you don't really get answers to questions that seem rather important (hint hint) the expectations (which have been really jacked up with the imminent release depending on what you call 'autumn') might exceed the pre-release and then what will people do - start the 'it will get better' mantra that other sims have had ? just saying... I can't imaging them not letting people invest $100 until the winter release comes at a cheaper price, who would turn down $100 for a flight sim So I guess I'll predict since there isn't any news on it - that I can tell my friends to wait to see how this pre-release goes and if it's positive, they can buy in, or wait until the winter release to re-eval, and then possibly wait until the spring release. I know this isn't hyping the release up, but with no solid answers, one can only start to speculate. I hope it's good, my $100 is sitting here patiently

VeryOldMan Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Just bought my premium one. Had to make some sacrifices since the X65F was already in the credit card this month and a new gearbox for my car... But i so want to play a fw190 again.. BTW.. do we already have a thread to whine about the FW190 cockpit bar?
LLv34_Flanker Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 S! VeryOldMan..there can't be a FW190 without the gargantuan threads of it Really interested to fly it. I think we will have interesting times ahead, in a positive way
Daytrader Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 so if we do not buy the premiumn edition by the 1st sept, will we never be able to get the FW190 or LA5 in the future ?, i mean what about people that will come to the sim next year and after ? cheers
