Syndicate Server (EU)

Recommended Posts

The SYNDICATE server is operated by a number of enthusiastic members of the Syndicate Squadron:  http://www.syndicatesquadron.org.  Besides BoS, we have also been running a dedicated server for Rise of Flight for over four years.

We are mostly interested in objective based missions where it really helps when players co-operate to achieve a common goal. Our server should be fun for both experts and beginners, which is why there will always be airfields available where you can take-off from without being immediately jumped. We think it's best to avoid any helpers such as icons or simplified controls to best experience this great flight simulation.

During the week our missions will balance accessible game play and realistic scenario's. This means we will go for realistic plane sets and locations as much as possible but we'll make allowances for the sake of game play. The idea is that you can have fun and complete missions within an hour. Our goal is to make a string of missions where it will be possible to progress through based on the results of the previous mission, thus creating a sort of simplified online campaign.

We'll also host specific events during weekends where the missions will be based on historical scenario's and where flight times and distances will be realistic. For these missions we'll expect players to show up at a specific time so planes can fly in formations, escort flights can be organized. The key word here is team play! These missions, depending on your plane type can last up to 3 hours.

We encourage you to use Team speak to best enjoy your stay at the server. You are welcome to join us in our channel: IP: 173.199.64.243:9105 Password: 1917

Server settings:

-Realistic settings, no helpers or icons

-No auto balancing

-Mission duration 3 hours

-Fuel/load-out may be locked to support certain scenario's.

The dedicated server is located in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with direct access to one of the biggest internet exchanges in Europe.

Our servers are paid for with contributions from members and subscribers. We are grateful for any donations!.

I look forward in reading help topics in these forums on how to create dedicated servers and mission scripting, for those who want to host which guys like you have the know how.
I feel that the downfall of CLoD there was one main server from the start that took the monopoly of pilots and now have been seen as directing the game as they see fit. I know that the game is still in the early stages of DEV but look forward in reading posts in these forums on how tos to educate the BoS community and making the game successful for the mass. If BoS has mass appeal, then it will become a roaring success. more players (more units sold) more money there will be to drive the game forward for future improvements.

Server will be down most probably all day, dont know for sure. Please use official servers for now so the devs can test some stuff.

Guys, our server will get restarted as soon as any of us is home :)  I suspect there is a problem in the mission that keeps crasing the server; something that used to work in RoF, but apparently doesn't work in BoS...

Another thing: In order to help the devs with their performance testing we will run the same mission on our server tonight as on the official server. This in order to compare results. So please keep on flying!

Trying to restart the server and it gets an error trying to log into the master server, do not think it is a mission problem, more a pack files check failure and login failed.

Thanks for the server, I have a couple of questions for the He-111 resupply mission, haven't seen these asked but maybe I've missed them.

1) I assume that landing at Basargino will not resupply planes in the pocket?

2) If you end up with a "crash landing 50% points", do you still resupply the pocket?

I've been trying to join the server this morning (never joined before/first time) and every time I try to connect it gives me error message "#10017 file transfer error"

Any clue what this means? I've never had this problem when joining other servers.

Hi.
I keep getting a #10021: User is banned on this server.

To my knowledge, I haven't even played on this server, let alone do anything wrong.
How should I address this?

Thanks,
Eugen

EDIT: nvm, restarted the game and all is back to normal.

The LG 1 unit are slowly getting adapted to BOS, my hope is higher now when flying on your server, and the potential is obvious *(HUGE). Everything fell into place.

For me it is important that both sides get a obtainable object to fill. Win the battle and rotate the map.

I like tha transport duty, and wish for a JU 52 and a C-47 so both sides can do it.

Many say that the simplified bomb aim is a turn off, for me getting a panel just for loft , you can say it is, but I find bombing in BOS far more difficult than in cod.

I am very grateful for Syndicate continuous effort for sim community

It seems it's getting a favorite sport of some to fly very high over enemy airfields and then pick off planes one by one. Of course the 109 excells at this sport while surely some VVS also participate in such activities.

Is it possible to get better high altitude flak? Currently these vultures are not at all bothered by it. It only gets slightly dangerous for them when they are already low and even then they manage to make too many passes without having to fear muchh.

Since currently the probability to be hit by flak is far below the probability to get a kill in this manner it is no real challenge to them.

For those who will come with the argument: organize field protection:

At least for allied side the airfields are too far apart to quickly intervene. If one takes off from one airfield the action is gone as soon as one reaches the other airfield. Also we know that no VVS plane can effectively fight high altitude fights. The 109s just climb higher. (I pray for a Mig 3 soon in order to make tactics a bit more challenging for 109 pilots :) )

I am not here to complain about the fact that some (surely on both sides) go after these easy kills. I think however it should be made more dangerous for them so it is not that easy.

You may find this thread contains some info about vulching/easy kills etc. I think that is where most people go to discuss issues, cannot help you on an answer though, I only keep it running don't do the missions :-)

The server restarts, I go take a piss, come back and spawn at the far base with a Stuka and couldn't even taxi 50ft before Yaks were already strafing me, not even 10 minutes in.

I can't play in this server anymore, at least until a new mission is up because right now, it's just vulching, vulching, and more vulching. The only strategy people people use is bouncing from one enemy airfield to another until they're eventually shot down, it completely ruins the game.

Doesn't matter which mission is loaded, if people want to Vulch they will, at least until AAA get corrected. I have said it like million times, AAA is bugged. Hopefully when it's looked up, with 10 AAA guns per airfield (as they have now) will be enought to prevent some of that vulching, nothing it can be done to prevent coordinated airfield attacks.

It's the dynamic of the mission. Vulching is pretty rare in Ahktuba Strike and Heavy Metal.

I can't say for every people, but we talked about that with some french players. We don't like vulching when it's on the official server (there is no challenge and it's a kind of spawn kill, takeoff, fly 5 minutes drop your bomb, landing and do the same action in loop). But on Syndicate and other server (which provide the same kind of mission) we accept it, because there is a challenge to attack an airfield. You have to do a long navigation to reach your goal. So, you can be intercept and have to deal with foe fighters. It's a real mission which take more than one hour.

As I'm sitting in the Syn server now, the German team dropped from 18 players to 6 because there were multiple Yaks at the forward airfields just strafing everything that spawns in. Sure, airfields are targets, so bring rockets/bombs, escort Yak's or Pe's there, that's not vulching, that's ground strike, but when fighters just shoot up every plane that spawns in and are usually too fast for the bugged AAA, it  just ruins the game as is very obvious with everyone quitting like this (me included after getting vulched consecutively at Tusov). I would love to see a rocket fly in my face from an IL-2 before my engine started, but not 20mm's from a Yak. I don't know why I'm complaining, it's futile. But if ground forces had an impact, it would make the vulching a lot less imo.

My theory is, if you want an enemy to fight against, don't play like a dick. Right now it's 16 Russians vs 5 Germans, it's not even worth spawning in, and I'm forced to change servers because this is not fun lol.

------

But finally, we get the battle for the city itself in the mix! Train station, factories, etc, etc, tanks attacking villages, a nice front line, very clean!

BIG Thank You To Syndicate!

Totally agree with you, as I see it we cant or want to do nothing against coordinated airfield attacks since those are actual missions and Im totally up to escort a wing of bombers or attack planes into an enemy airfield for a raid and bringing them back. What I dislike is those that stay simply camping waiting for people to spawn. As Silky said is not much we can do untill the AAA get a look at and actually hit something that stand there for minutes....then we are hoping things will change for the good and people change their way of playing (airfields camping) or simply left to another server.
