Bearcat Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 All the comments are fair enough but guys .. We need to consider that just 11 months ago none of this was even on the horizon. I am sure they were working their plan but none of this was on our radar at all. I would have still kicked in at the same rate being fairly confident that whatever I bought would be more expensive in the final product but that's me. Please keep in mind what FSM said in his first post in this thread as the days progress and a lot of this sinks in and please be patient even in the shadow of your dissappointment. Good update. One of the things that gives me the most confidence in all this is the fact that the devs have had a consistent plan from day one with this. 1
Blitzen Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I have always thought, because of the developement of rise of flight, that Studio 777 must really have a grest group in their Customer Relations Dept. They seem to know & understand the people they are marketing to .They seem to understand what we are looking forward to & when they need to patch up a sim they let them know that too.We early buyers know we're getting a developing sim- it won't be perfect ...it may not even be Beta. Its more like a preview that we get to play with & talk about ( to a degree..) Studio 777 knows this will help sell the game ,I think. Compare this to Ubisoft's roll out of Cliffs of Dover ( Sidebar: Which thanks to Modders at ATAG has become quite good BTW) if they had done something similar, things might have been differnt for the sim.If they had handled the firestorm of anger from some of the early purchasers better perhaps CloD would have more quickly fullfilled its potential ,perhaps they would be developing BoS still ?Instead they dropped the ball into Studio 777's lap ,which will probably be in the long run doing us a favor. I can hardly wait for it to be here...wait for it..."in two more weeks!" 2
TheBlackPenguin Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Seems they have a strict plan, for those doubters the proof will be in the pudding so to speak.
DD_bongodriver Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Proof will be the pudding for everyone, not just doubters. 1
E69_julian57 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Very good catches bf-f4, I vote for another skin, but seeing it now I just pretty.regards
LLv34_Flanker Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 S! Got a new wallpaper Thanks for the update, that Founder skin looks good in the game engine! Have a nice weekend all of you 1
smink1701 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Will pilots ever be shown wearing oxygen masks? I for one hope this is modeled especially at high altitudes ... which was the case with IL-2
GOAT-ACEOFACES Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 wow those pics of the 109 are stunning!
322Sqn_Dusty Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Great. For the testing phase could there be made (or is there) a printable form available per test session with questions concerning bugs or glitches found? e.g. take a closer look at this or that (questions from 1c/777 BoS team) and fill in the rest that the tester finds him-/herselves ? After the testweek the 'found and fixed' bugs/ glitches are filled in on the next form: Are they gone? Y/N
=69.GIAP=YSTREB Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Great update! as usual. Very happy with poll result Awesome screenshots and wallpaper
sop Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Thanks for the info cant wait to try it out, have to admit even though im not a luftluver that 109 looks amazing.
JG4_Sputnik Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Superb looking screenies Thx for the update.
DB605 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 That's like saying "It's a bit sad that I'm restricted to only drive Lamborghini Avantador". There is no "LaGG only", there is only "The LaGG". Well i'm not too sure about that, judging by real life pilots comments. 'Lakirovannii Garantirovannii Grob' or 'varnished, guaranteed coffin' isn't exactly flattering nickname for plane, is it? Still good to have some time to adress into "enemys" plane like flatspinman said.
=AVG=Zombie Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Well we can get the feel of the plane and maybe co-ordinate some kind of racing! Maybe the Devs can add some pylons somewhere in the first map release....... at least would be something to do. 1
=LD=Hethwill Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 We know about things that haven't been completed. Prior to every session I'll be posting a short list of things that I'd like you to pay your attention to. Ah, good to know.
Graawl Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) Nice update, even as a "spectator". It well clarifies how the early access will be going on. It is quite courageous of the dev team to let buyers play the game early in development stage ! I assume it is only alpha by now, as all features haven't been fully implemented yet. [edit] beta's not that far apparently after a re-read through the update ! [/edit] I am very thankfull to the "Founders" for making the effort ! Edited November 1, 2013 by Graawl
Volkoff Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) The BF-109 F-4 with the founder's skin looks so handsome and sharp. What a wonderful design! He will look very fantastic in videos. The skin maker did a really great job. As for Loft's comments, I really appreciate that the team takes our considerations to heart. I am looking forward to the impending release. Thank you to the team, and thank you to the volunteers working in support of IL2 BOS related stuff, for all of your efforts! MJ Edited November 1, 2013 by =69.GIAP=MIKHA
Rodolphe Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) ... It's probably a typo, as the Stalingrad map should be from east to west length of 360 km (Tatsinskaya - Stupino / Kapustin Yar) and north-south 230 km (Kletskaya - Kotelnikovo, the "test" map is more likely 50 x 50 km. ? Gorgeous Friedrich skin with this impressive Schwarzer Adler. ... Edited November 1, 2013 by Rodolphe
HeavyCavalrySgt Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I understand there is no full editor until April, but starting out will we be able to manipulate environmental factors like time of day, temperature, cloud cover, percipitation or wind? I am anxious to try crosswind landings and takeoffs.
SCG_Neun Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 In the context of the excellent reputation of 777 and a greater understanding for the complexities of making a simulation like this .......well all I can say is I understand and appreciate the updates and have no regrets in throwing my money into the kitty for this project. In fact, I'm darn proud to feel like a part of the team on this, especially considering the competence and planning that has been demonstrated by the production staff. I also understand those of our group that express frustration with the process as well, but I see the entire thing coming together in a really great Sim! 1
Foobar Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Compare this to Ubisoft's roll out of Cliffs of Dover ( Sidebar: Which thanks to Modders at ATAG has become quite good BTW) if they had done something similar, things might have been differnt for the sim.If they had handled the firestorm of anger from some of the early purchasers better perhaps CloD would have more quickly fullfilled its potential ,perhaps they would be developing BoS still ?Instead they dropped the ball into Studio 777's lap ,which will probably be in the long run doing us a favor. I can hardly wait for it to be here...wait for it..."in two more weeks!" UBI didn't roll out anything in matters of Il-2 series. They only published the series outside of russia. Development always was under 1C:Softclub.
Livai Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 wow those pics of the 109 are stunning! stunning would be if I see this with my own eyes ingame. And pics or videos says not much because according the EULA the graphic and other parts of the game can be downscaled during the development. I see it on many games that Alpha-Version are maxed out to show the press (for example: E3) and the Release Version what the Customer get is downscaled and different. The skin looks great rendered ingame
FlatSpinMan Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 The update mentions something about Photoshop somewhere, but yes, it looks really really good.
senseispcc Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I like the idea of a sort of demo before gettin the full game like for the very first IL2, Hurray!... I still do not like the non historical skin I see here.
Alx Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I don't recall what the initial wording was for the pre-order. If it was "early access to the game" or "early access to the beta", I can see where you went wrong. Clearly it should have said "early access to the ALPHA" (perhaps it did, as I said, I don't recall). The latter is what I always understood it to be, so I'm completely fine with the game being only 30% complete, no guns, etc. The 3 days per week during the working week is an odd decision, but I'm sure you understand your servers, etc. so there's a good reason for it. I'm looking forward to stress testing.
Talisman Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Many thanks BoS team. I like the fact that there are no weapons to start with, so that we can concentrate on flying before rushing into combat; very good. Good luck and happy landings, Talisman
ITAF_Rani Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Nice update...ready to test here... P.S. Fly only in the first time will be important to find confidence with the new flight model pf this sim....after that ...gunnery practice wil be really nice to do.... Salute
AX2 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 I'm really sorry to say this. Apologies With all my respect, I was scammed with my pre order. They know what they did. Again my apologies BUT, I could wait a lot of bad things for alpha launch, but this is neither a alpha launch. This is a shame. . 2
FuriousMeow Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 How can you be scammed if you would end up paying more for the release product in 7 months?
SCG_Neun Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Stunning founder´s skin ! Thanks Yeah, that skin is a keeper for sure!
DD_bongodriver Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 How can you be scammed if you would end up paying more for the release product in 7 months? What if it turns out to be little difference?
GOAT-ACEOFACES Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) stunning would be if I see this with my own eyes ingame.Wether you see it or not on your system does not change my statement.. It is still stunning! As in it is good to know that this level of detail is obtainable on 'a' system. Thus the only question left is if obtaining this level of detail is worth it 'to you' to upgrade your system to compatible hardware. And pics or videos says not much because according the EULA the graphic and other parts of the game can be downscaled during the development. I see it on many games that Alpha-Version are maxed out to show the press (for example: E3) and the Release Version what the Customer get is downscaled and different.Disagree, these pics and videos do say this, 'this level of detail is obtainable on high end systems'. Pretty started practice for game makers to 'target' near future hardware, and not current hardware. The idea being the current hardware may not obtain frame rates that are acceptable to everyone with everything turned up to full, but, near future hardware improvements will make it possible. The down side to this approach is the game makers have to take a lot of heat in the mean time from gamers with non current cutting edge systems that feel ripped off because they were not able to turn all the features up to 100% with their 3 year old graphics card and 5 year old mother board. But game makers are use to this and realize they do not want to cater to these types and therefore are willing to take the 'initial' heat. Edited November 1, 2013 by ACEOFACES 1
FuriousMeow Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 The price for the release has been stated, it's more.
DD_bongodriver Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 The price for the release has been stated, it's more. Got link, so far I read nothing has been finalised.
FuriousMeow Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) When the pre-order program closes our store will be updated and it will offer only the Premium Edition for the price of $94.99. Purchasing it will instantly grant the owner an invitation to the early access program, but unfortunately it will not provide them with bonuses and special community status of the Founders. We've also set the price for the game at launch in spring 2014: $59,99 for Standard edition and $99,99 for Premium edition. DD #37. So basically with the Premium edition paying now, you get the 190, La5, founders skins, a couple unlocks already unlocked, and you can jump in and play it when it gets better - still months before release, and paying less than on release day. I see no scam, you get more than you will at release with less money. Edited November 1, 2013 by FuriousMeow
rob63 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 Thanks for the update. I look forward to piloting with that amazing F-4 skin. Just curious, will 3D coding be in place, in particular 3D Vision during the testing phase? If not, just more to look forward to
