Editor Mission out of order

hello all,

fisrt, sorry if my english is uncorrect, i'm french

 

 from my both computer  my mission editor crash  and now i'm unable to reopen them.

I got this message

 

 

I try to reinstall all the game but nothing seems to work

 

first computer

Intel i5 4690K 8Go Ram

AMD Radeon R9 200 Series with  catalyst 15.7.1

 

second computeur

Intel  Core2 6420 4Go ram

AMD Radeon HD 5700 series with catalys 15.7.1

 

Both with Windows 7

One cause for this may be if you are using custom terrain file. There is thread about this from several months ago, but can't find it.

don't belive in this  because i'm using all the basic file. I never try to customize terrain

Something appears to be wrong with DirectX, or with your graphics card drivers. Have you updated/changed anything on that front recently? Does the game still work?

Ok i have solved my problem but with different way on different computer

 

1st computer

with launching another game (the lord of the ring online) my settings in this game have been reseted so i change them to my personal setting.

After that Mission Editor start well

 

2nd computer

reinstalling the game solved the issue

 

3rd computer

supressing the key register HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/1CGS solved the issue

 

 

So i'm fully operationnal again but i don't find the cause of this issue

I have the same issue.  Attempts at corrective action so far:

1.  Install new copy of game

2. ResetEditorSettings.cmd

3. Roll back drivers

 

I have not installed any new games recently but there was a driver update which is what must have killed the ME (this the rollback).

The game works.  The ME does not.

Which version of Windows are you using?

 

Are you getting the exact same alert box as Carleo, or a crash?

 

Have you tried doing 3) that Carleo described above (removing the registry key)?

 

What is your graphics card? Are you running GeForce Experience (if so maybe try closing it)?

 

If you have an integrated graphics card, could the driver update have somehow changed things so that the editor tries using the integrated GPU?

Hi Coconut - thanks for the response.

 

The error is identical

 

I did have GEForce Experience installed.  I uninstalled it and the NVidia drivers then reinstalled the drivers without GEForce Experience.  Good call but no luck.

 

ResetEditorSettings.cmd does delete the registry key.  It is a single line batch:

reg delete "HKCU\Software\1SGS" /f was tried

 

It almost certainly has to do with a driver update.  The BoS ME used to work - then it didn't.  If I could find old drivers that might do the trick, but it's a bit bothersome that the BoS ME is the only program affected,

 

Computer specs:
Windows I7 2.3 GHz
NVidia GEForce 660
8 GB RAM
500 GB HD
Windows 7

Tried going back to July drivers (353.30 from July - Current is 355.82 from August 31).  Didn't help.

Maybe it should be

reg delete "HKCU\Software\1CGS" /f

Windows 10 is a last resort? Always can go back to 7 within 30 days.

HI, Here is another stuff : What can be done when this issue appears ?

Another instance of "Il2-Shturmovik BoS Editor" or "Il-2-Shturmovik BoS Game" application is already running ! But I can't find any application of BoS running ! Is there a probleme with Mission editor cause when this window appears , nothing can't be done for me to play the game ? Also I got this message from the mission editor :  Please wait until operation is finished !

 But it looks that i can wait for hours and nothing happens ! What should be done?

Try opening Task Manager and closing Launcher.exe (if it's running). Launcher.exe may be in the Processes tab rather than the Applications tab (I'm going on a vague memory here).

Thanks Jim , I got it right now. You've been helpfull but this mission editor is quite tricky ! I'm afraid i made a wrong in this editor and before i get use to it  in a safe way i should learn more about this task !

 since this evening the editor has a strange behaviour. Toggle Camera shows a black screen. If a unzoom, i have what shown in the screenshot.

I installed today Java8... i uninstalled it, unsuccessfull.

 

Any idea ?

All folders deleted, registry cleaned, game reinstalled....  everything is back.

 

I'll try again with Java 8 soon, just to be sure it's a coincidence.

This is the fix for me please don't loose your life reinstalling drivers and the game etc. I get this problem when doing a copy paste in the editor.

 

I pray the devs get this fixed soon, it causes so much pain if you are new to ghe ME and there are several posts now.

Arrrg !!! it's dead again. Like on the 18th of september, same behavior. Check above to see what's going on.

 

I deleted the C1GS keys in the registry. without success.

Ok i found out. It is the file terrain.cfg i added tomorrow. Once deleted, everything was back.
