Hi Gents,

i wants to introduce the Jg26 Schlageter as a fighting force !!

We are a squadron which is currently flying the "Full Real Battles" in Warthunder but will for sure switch over to Il2: BoS as soon as it comes out because we want a TRUE realistic SIMULATION !!!

So pls reserve this name for us with the Tag Jg26, we will be here in great numbers... many thanks !!!

Well, we'll see soon .

Hallo jungs and glad to see you around here! (although Hans you told me that you won't rush into BoS until released, but may it be so) ;)

I'm glad i'm seeing the whole bunch of respectable simmers in this new home, and i want to express my genuine curiosity about how BoS will turn out in the end.

If they finally decide to introduce the IAR 80 here (http://forum.il2stur...u-see-il-2-bos/) then i'll have this game preordered/ordered hands down the first second i see the anouncement.

I'll stick around FRB for the couple of months to come, and when the first good impressions about BoS  arrive i'll jump the ship too and give this potential jewel a try.

See you in the skies friends!

I see a problem.

I represent JG26, Schlageter, created 14 years ago. We have always been flying real simulations; no offence, guys.

For the last decade we fly IL-2 1946, with HSFX mod for a while now and will be switching to BoS.

Don't be upset to see our recruitment post around here soon.

I see our tags go differently though.

S~ Gents

I don't see a problem as long as our tags remain different. Otherwise I can see the only problem being massive confusion. You will see I registered us in the Virtual Squadron section using the tag "JG26_" back in 2012.

Anyways... The more JG's or Jg's in the skies, the better.

Salute and Happy Hunting!

Bored? Bored?? If it was just that! I'm totally annoyed or rather p....d off by the ignorance and stubbornness of the WT devs refusing to see a difference between game and simulation, between virtual pilots and instant gratification seeking gamers. The foul stench of sweaty mouse coat and tiny mouse droppings (almost) everywhere made me sick from the first day and has become worse every day since. And gets even worse with every so called "promotion" - like the current one ("Indian summer") asking the poor stinky mousies for 1100 (sic!: one thousand and one hundred) airkills to get a free plane. How much kills scored the best fighter aces in WWII? So much said about WT striving for "historic realism"... Vets all over the world will have to cure WT mousies for tenosynovitis long before the promotion is over...

I'm not an unhumorous hardcore simmer. I even enjoyed the "ponies" of last April fool's day, but that lasted for 24 hours. By now I've lost all hope that WT devs are even thinking about adressing the problem of "put all in one big stinky pot and see what happens". Therefore there will be a huge, epic exodus the very day BoS opens (no need to say I already placed my preorder). And then, year after year, we all celebrate that day as "liberation day".

P.S.

WRT Full Real Battles, the only mousefree zone left, I should perhaps add: About 2 months ago I have become a 3D addict (using the Sony HMZ-T1). But currently there's a flipside to the wonderful 3D immersion: Poor resolution confines me to HB (and Arcade). I enjoy flying into battle with all helps switched of, but I couldn't fight and tell friend from foe without the help and indicators only available in HB and Arcade.

Let me get this right; there are at least three different groups lurking on these boards who lay claim to being JG26?  :salute:

well...actually 5 squads, so far I can see:

- Ez´s venerable JG26, founded 14 years ago (!) using "JG26_" - tag since the first day and "registered" it here last year

- 5./ - 7./JG26, integrated in Air Combat Group

- and not to forget ;) the hellhounds of the 9./JG26 :o:

Ask yourself: was it not the only reason to announce your squadron in here, to make sure that it will stay "unique" in our community ?

My proposal: Decide for 1./ - 3./ or 8./JG26 and let us fly together as independent Staffeln in those unfriendly skies over Stalingrad :salute:

excellent idea, Brubaker. The JG26_ Schlageter will remain as JG26_

Anyway based on OP's web address and squad's logo, looks like they are III Gruppe Stab, not "Schlageter".

Of course, Stray. I meant the "new guys" may rename to 1./, 2./ or 3./JG26 etc..  :salute:

Not surprising that there are "collisions" if people claim to be an entire fighter wing rather than being a tiny bit humble and just pretending to be a staffel or two.

We operate 5./JG26, 6./JG26 and imminently 7./JG26

Hello Gents !S

Yeah, i see your points and the "conflicts" in name-using....i already feared this fact when announcing our squadron also to this new environment....

I agree to some of you, those are the problems we ALL have to face when naming our clans after historical units which were as famous as our historical inspiring example !!!

I think the idea to give all of our JG26's the different group tags would be a viable and reasonable option because i dont think anyone of us will field 128 members to muster a full Jg26 for its own ?!

So maybe, that would be my proposal, the oldest one of our units could be the STAB/JG26, the others could use tags like this: I.Gruppe/JG26 or just II./JG26 or something like that...what do you gents mean?

This would prevent confusion on the battlefield, possible conflicts in the future and would add a huge immersion factor to the game, adding JG26 units of all kinds to the battlefield in historically correct numbers...mean, we will be everywhere :P

Hi Hans,

Welcome if you've upgraded from WT,  here's basically how it works:

JG26 is a Jagdgeschwader and that basically consists of 3 Gruppes of 4 Staffels of 4 Schwarms of 2 Rottes of 2 Pilots........which is 192 pilots - It's massive.  This organisation changed throughout the war though.

We've just selected a staffel, well 3, in accordance with our actual size - 20 pilots in each, and not the entire Jagdgeschwader.  I apologise though,  I said 7 Staffel and that's my RAF ignorance (for in ACG we have No.501, No.64 and No.615 - a wing, 3 squadrons),   I was corrected by my Luftwaffe counterpart that 4./JG26 because 4 staffel, like 5 and 6, are in II Gruppe.

JG26 was pretty much western front though,  we shouldn't be here   ;)

Is this another JG26?   Do people even know the difference between a Jagdgeschwader, Gruppe and Staffel at all?

Chill a bit mate, we have settled this discussion earlier and don't need to bring it up here again. We are coming from War Thunder where our suqadrom was established as Jg 26, we wanted to keep this tradition in BoS.

As there's so much worrying with nurmerous IL-2 squadroms here we might find a solution when squadroms established here in BoS. There's simply no point in debating about it at this early stage of development.

I'm sure you can agree on this.

Not to create any additional confusion, but historically 1./JG26 & 7./JG26 both briefly served on the Eastern Front when it was directed by OKL to swap out with JG54 east to west to "enrich" the experience levels of both squadrons between both theaters.  It was quickly realized that things were way harder on the western front for JG54 to acclimate and both squadrons went back to their original theaters of operation.  Therefore, since I fly with the ACG guys in 1./JG26 I wish to reserve this staffel name for a future squadron that I'll be creating, please let me know if it infringes on anyone else's prior designation.

Here's an interesting read regarding the swap mentioned above:
