Leaf Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 This is about as low-priority as it gets, but I think it would be great if the spinners on the 109 worked. It'd look really cool!
LuftManu Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) I should wait for custom skins, I dont know if now it is represented in any 109, but for sure the skins made by the community will make it, in Clod it is like that and in 46! Edited August 19, 2014 by Manu_vc
Finkeren Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Had they started applying those in 1942? I thought it was more of a 1943/44 thing.
Leaf Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 Had they started applying those in 1942? I thought it was more of a 1943/44 thing. Well you can see them on the G2 and F4 in game. Not the spiral ones, but ones similar to this.
Finkeren Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Yeah those started to be applied quite early on. I think I've seen something similar in Emils during the Battle of Britain. The spirals however, I think came later.

Finkeren Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 There was propably some sort of overlap, but I have never seen the spiral pattern on any 109 earlier than a G-6.
migmadmarine Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Were these decorative, or a warning like the yellow tips on most American and modern propellers?
Finkeren Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Propably a reminder to the ground crew that the prop is spinning.
Brano Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 It is there to hypnotize enemy on headon attack 1
Leaf Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 (edited) They for used to give the illusion of cannon fire. Since the cannon fired through the spinner, the alternating black-white patterns at high speed made it look like it was being fired. You can see it quite well here: Edited August 19, 2014 by LeafyPredicament
