Leaf Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 (edited) Did it have MW50? I was just wondering when MW50 was first introduced in Luftwaffe aircraft. Edited August 17, 2014 by LeafyPredicament
1CGS LukeFF Posted August 18, 2014 1CGS Posted August 18, 2014 No, it did not. The first models of the 109 to have MW 50 fitted were the G-6/R2 and the G-14.

Kurfurst Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Serial production G-1/2/3/4 did not have MW 50 boost fitted, as LukeFF noted these only become serial boosts in 1944, with G-6 and later subtypes. Apparantly at least one G-4 was experimentally fitted with MW 50 boost, and it produced a top speed of 580 km/h at SL and 670 km/h at 4900m, at 1,7 ata boost.

Thanks Kurfurst! 1.7 ata, that's impressive for a DB 605!
