That model was pretty rare, even in the day.

We have the coupe version of it in the museum I work for.

Well don´t forget Ford has a plant in Cologne, and many models

are a bit differant than the ones in North America.

My friend has a Ford Ranger with a V6 in it that's made in Colonge. I completely forgot about that. Crazy the stuff that comes up in conversations  :)

I don't think that 01A DeLuxe convertibles have been built in Köln.

I have no idea Foo, but I have seen North American Ford models and they are differant than the ones being

sold in Europe. Tell the people about a Ford Galaxy or a Ford Taunus in North America and they will look

at you as if you where drunk.

Today it's different anyway.

I thought we've talked about circumstances of about 1937 ;)

For clairification, that is a US built 1940 Deluxe in the photo.

Also a few Taunus models were sold in the US by Ford, but not many.

The "Galaxie" name first appeared in the US market in the 1959 model year.  It designated the highest trim level on the largest chassis

Ford available here.  The name was used into the 70s.

And as an aside I owned a German built 2.8 litre Capri for a number of years.  They were imported by Ford and sold through their Mercury brand dealer network.

It was one of the better cars I have owned in my almost 60 years on the planet.  And yes, it was a proper silver color.

Yes, except for the lack of the modern hot rod stuff on the pic you linked to.
