MarcoBertozzi Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) Hallo Gents, couldn't resist anymore the temptation, and yesterday got the Standard edition (monthly budget for toys exhausted, I'll ask another question on this later). On quick missions everything runs smooth as silk, but on MP I experienced a dramatic slowing down of frame rate - I wouldn't say "stuttering", because it was rather "regular". Now, given that the minimum specs should be the same as for RoF, and there I have no problems at all, even when the server is crowded, I guess it must be something into the graphic settings hitting hard on my video card (GeForce GTS450 2,6 Gb GRam). The fact is that I cannot find a detailed panel like the one in Rof: I'm sure that fine tweaking of graphic settings may solve the problem. Is there planned a future release of such a panel for BoS too? Thank you. Marco Edited August 16, 2014 by Uhu_Rodion
Picchio Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Last word from them was that they mean to stick with graphics presets for the release. So nope, no such panel.
feuervogel Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Yes, only the 4 presets at the moment ... I set it ingame on ultra and in NVidia Inspector I copied in the same settings from Rise Of Flight which has basically same graphic engine, both running smooth (GTX 580, 6GB RAM). But there has been a difference in smoothness between SP and MP for me, too.
MarcoBertozzi Posted August 17, 2014 Author Posted August 17, 2014 S! Thanks for the replies. Made some testing with Fraps yesterday, and saw that the worst happens in a sky crowded with icons and labels, but even without them I reach a miserable 30fps only with the "balanced" preset. That's too bad, because in those conditions dogfight is not an easy task at all. So I'll stick to single player mode until there's a chance to tweak the graphic config - well, at least I can concentrate on learning how to land in one piece! ... and now I realize there's already another thread on the same subject, so I apologize for doubling. Cheers Marco
EGValar Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I think it is great to NOT have dozens of settings to tinker with. I always end up wasting too much time with that instead of playing ;-)
