We would like to give you a short introduction on who we are and what we do within the subsequent lines.

In February 2003 we emerged from the virtual I/JG26. Ever since we tried our best to make our name in the rather small community of flight simulations. Our squadron is named after the historical Luftwaffe squadron I. Gruppe  Jagdgeschwader 27, and therefore we are focused on German planes and tactics. Lead by the ideas and principles, which we consider essential for both a successful team-play and strong company within our members, we challenged the long way of virtual flying as a squadron. Our focus is set on the virtual life and we essentially see our activities somehow as a role play in which we can advance our virtual career. We designed our virtual homebase to meet these requirements and therefore offer a self programmed, fully automatic website with a (wip-)coop-mis report system as well as detailed self-created graphics (ranks, awards and so on) and interesting photo and screenshot albums of your events. Unfortunately many people, essentially those who do no not make an effort to gather further information about what we do, think that virtual pilots flying for the German side in IL-2 would like to see a resurgence of the Nazi era. That is definitely not the case. We  do not to approve of the crimes or ideologies that have been present during world war 2, nor do we accept such behaviour by any of our members. We clearly separate reality from our virtual activities. Teamwork and the challenge against international players is what still attracts us to the game after all those years, not the possibility to continue a war that has caused so much pain to Europe. We think that the long list of people we call friends, is the best evidence against all those inconsiderate preconceptions.

Although many of our members are able to speak and understand English without difficulties, we decided to maintain German as the main squadron language. So we unfortunately have to reject applications from non-German speaking pilots. Nevertheless we are open for international cooperation regarding flight affairs. (In case you would like to arrange training flights or flight events we ask you to contact the squadron commander via mail or the Forums.

After almost 10 years of activity we are still addicted to the virtual operations we use to participate multiple times a week. As the sequel of IL-2 Sturmovik is announced , we are preparing to join a new aera of flight simulations. In order to strengthen our group for the upcoming battles of the British-Channel, we are always open for applications of enthusiastic recruits.

S! and good hunting.

Well said Zimmi.

I am so much looking forward to IL-2:BoS and am eagerly awaiting the SENSATION of flying like I experience in RoF (or even better!??), which suprised me so well with its attention to detail and the unprecedented feel of "I am really flying a real aircraft" :)

Glad the dev team keeps up the good work and I love to support them by my Premium Pre-Order ;)

Great to see you decided to take the golden (or as I use to say the TiN) one!

Btw. we are still looking for enthuiastic pilots who do not fear fighting the Battle of Stalingrad. If you are interested in joining or in some sort of training / mission cooperation do not hesitate to get in contact with me or Rollo.

It's a great pleasure for me to announce the 11th anniversary of our squadron!

As a member of the very first hours I'm especially proud on the last years and I'm looking forward for another 11 years with IL-2 BoS!

1. Zimmi - when You will be Hauptmann at least? :)

2. Gents - I have many Bf109F-4 photos of I./JG27, but I failed to find even one photo of Bf109G-2 of Your Gruppe. Do Yopu have any?

Maybe the number of crash landings prevents any further promotions  ;)

About your question regarding Bf 109 G-2 trop. I found some in "Messerschmitt Bf 109 im Einsatz bei Stab und I./Jagdgeschwader 27" by Prien, Rodeike and Stemmer. Page 308-309, 316, 318.

Probably not the amount of money one would spend on a book every day, but you won't find anything better regarding the I/JG27 imo.

How do you guys feel about people who can speak some German but aren't fluent? I doubt I could carry on a very good conversation but I know enough to understand orders ect. I'm a very good formation pilot so I'd rather be flying someones wing then be leading anyhow.

12 years ago, pilots of the I. Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 27, entered the virtual battlefields for the first time.

Thanks to all of your pilots, friends and opponents. I'm looking forward to another 12 years of aerial battle over Stalingrad, Moscow, .. and probably Northern Africa ;)

I can definetly say that those 12 years were unforgettable and also quite imprinting...which can be positive or negative as I had to experience a few days ago.. ATC obvisously doesn't like it if you confirm an instruction by "Vitamine:blink: At least I keep myself under control, not diving down on that departing cessna, shouting "Pauke, Pauke" :P

Followed 10 seconds later by an excited "Horrido!" ;D

Salute I./JG27!

Are You active as a fighter squad at the moment?

INTERACTIVE WAR online project needs Luftwaffe fight pilots! 6th Army is in great danger, so every Bf109 pilot is a great count for us.

I'm sorry to tell you that you'll hardly find any active pilots among us these days.
