ShadowsAndDust Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I bought BoS on steam and I haven't had any problems with it at all. Love the game 1
BigDally Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I bought BoS on steam and I haven't had any problems with it at all. Love the game Same here. It's really nice to have the game auto-update upon logging into Steam as well.
StarLightSong Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 This the only alternative to DCS which is too time intensive for me at the moment. However, I would like to move over to the steam platform where my many and much scattered online friends are. Can a key be obtained for us "Premium Founders" - not that I won't buy any additional content you create.
Ravenravenshadows78 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I suspect Valve won't give keys out for a game that hasn't been officially released.
wuffman Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 It seams if you ask for steam key youll get it, this guy on youtube vid is saying hes recived steam key from them even though he didnt buy it on steam but buy it on web page so it seams they can solve this problem and all are happy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHUpNUVXBc4#t=639 JJJudy, Did you see this?
StarLightSong Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Yes, I don't know if he got preferential treatment as he is a "Reviewer". I'd love to have us ride the Steam workshop "train" for addons/ mods... if the sim got Huge. one can dream.
Rx_USPHS Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Just adding my vote/request/plea for a Steam key to alpha purchasers. My only post to the forum after I bought it was for exactly that ability, should it come to Steam. Here's hoping they do so.
DrJester Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Yes, I'm also curious about the steam keys. So adding my vote on this too
Agilepig Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 When we non-steam version customers can connect with steam? There are lot's of players who want play this game with steam connect!
Firov Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I agree. Getting a Steam key for early access versions would be great, and it should be easily doable. Just look at Matrix games. Basically all of their newer games allow you to buy it on their site and receive a Steam key.
GunnyHighway Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 So, how do you get BOS to be registered on your steam account when you bought the game already 2 years ago?
StarLightSong Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Would like to play on steam, as is my DCS, ROF, Xplane, Take on Helicopters. Lots of little perks via the Steam ovelay, iPad/iphone app etc BOS micropayments/ products would be nice too. Offset the downsides of selling through the Juggernaut Steam. . . How do we proceed?
III/JG11_Simmox Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 you can still add a non steam game to your library, just wont get the auto updates but other functions work.
Bomred Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 How can I put a comment on Steam? I´ve just visitied it and the mayority of the comments are positive
Potato Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 It is the proverbial albatross that threatened to kill the whole genre. But what's weird is those yammering about CLOD didn't seem to know it's working pretty good now. It's hard to tell these folks though that there's just no comparison between COD and BOS as far as the feel. Anybody who's not tried it would believe it I don't think. It would seem as long as nobody loses their cool and starts swinging at the folks who just want airquake in 3rd person with their mouse things could stay cool. For me the selling point was the quest for historical accuracy along with the great graphics. In a world that just wants to immediately master something that takes a lot of practice might be a hard sell. Along with the idea if you want quality it's not made in a few days and it's more expensive because the base is just not as big might scare some. But I'm glad there are those of us who get this whole project and are willing to support a team that wants to shake off the albatross and come back strong. Hopefully that view will prevail. As a casual simmer: Clod is still a beast to setup, run and get into. BoS will go a long way to get more people playing combat sims. Now, where is my steam key?
StarLightSong Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Yes, I have many friends with literally hundreds of games (including ROF, that they play sporadically- not being serious simmers). I could see them joining me in BOS at the $50 level if they know someone playing. So kick me a key, even a cheaper $50 edition. It will be worth at quite a few sales as Christmas comes around. A free weekend is often used promotionally but I'm not sure how that can work with the BOS licensing account system. Perhaps you can give out "coupons" for Premium for the price of Basic editon if Steam must get their cut so us dual purchasers get a break. I do wish I would have waited, steam is my preferred platform, so easy to jump on any gaming system in front of you and play your own games list during game nights etc.
marklar Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 In the last few months some developers issued Steam keys to players who bought their games outside of Steam store. I wonder why 1C-777 still is not able to do it?

StarLightSong Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Really great news in time for summer! Once over to steam I will buy the BoM and be StrAIGHT. Way to Go, OHiO!
GunnyHighway Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 I don't know what is a good news. I have 2 BOS. One purchased outside Steam and one purchased with Steam. The one I purchased outside Steam have been very stable. The one I purchased with Steam have been unstable, many time I ended up OTD for no identifiable reasons. I have been on Steam for 11 years, own 216 games on Steam, and my experience is that there are few games that are unstable or just don't work on Steam. Just a fact.
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 -snip- I have been on Steam for 11 years, own 216 games on Steam, and my experience is that there are few games that are unstable or just don't work on Steam. Just a fact. No, that is not a fact. That is a fact.
Blitzen Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Just got Steam& have commented several times on General discussion about a couple of very minor install problems. These could have been solved with a simple readme ( I know there probably is one but I've missed it.) I did figure out that i now have two installs-my original & Steam.I'm glad the old one was not somehow dumped in the Steam install since I need to move missions, skins & input to the Steam install. No big deal.My screen aspect changed & I am still trying to figure out where to go to deal with this ( in Il-2 1946 it would have been a Config.file- here I just don't know...0 So now I have two working versions on BoS,original & Steam-at some point should I get rid of the original- there any reason to hold on to it? In going over to Steam what have I gained? It has worked fine for CloD so I anticipate no problems...but again what have I gained in making the switch? ( Hopefully I'm posting this in the right spot! )
Blitzen Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Never mind aspect question- I found the answer.
Doogerie Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 i took the plunge two days ago it's amazingly good but really only for the hard core
SVK_Uvitacivybor Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Hello. I get IL-2 BoS license key few days ago as a gift and I would like to activate it on Steam. Is there any way how to do it? Maybe some admin could help me... If there is anyway (except buying it again on Steam) please tell me. Thank you.

seafireliv Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 (edited) You can buy this non-Steam? i would`ve preferred to have gotten my copy that way a couple of days ago, but I didn`t know it was available elsewhere... So is the upcoming Moscow add-on sold somewhere around here cos it isn`t on Steam? Edited March 31, 2016 by seafireliv
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 You can buy Battle of Moscow in open beta at il2sturmovik.com
wtornado Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I am happy they are putting everything up on past the Battle of Stalingrad as downloadable content so we can choose what we want on STEAM.
III./JG1_Loch Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 is there (or will it be in future) any problem to have BoS (+La5 and Fw190) bought/activated on Steam and BoM (and next theaters) bought from official web without Steam activation. I dont wanna buy/activate other BoX games via Steam.
Jade_Monkey Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Im not sure, but it has been possible until BOM was officially release on Steam to access it without the key. Since you have to log in every time, thats where your account would really show what modules you have purchased. My guess is that it would be possible but better get an official answer.
Herne Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 is there (or will it be in future) any problem to have BoS (+La5 and Fw190) bought/activated on Steam and BoM (and next theaters) bought from official web without Steam activation. I dont wanna buy/activate other BoX games via Steam. I bought BoS on steam, and everything else except for for maybe the 190 from the IL2 Store. You simply apply your new purchases on your account with the IL2 Website, then they are instantly available through your BoS executable on Steam.
Guest deleted@30725 Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 I bought BoS on steam, and everything else except for for maybe the 190 from the IL2 Store. You simply apply your new purchases on your account with the IL2 Website, then they are instantly available through your BoS executable on Steam. This is true. I brought bok, the la7 & ju52 from the official il2 store and even though they don't show up in steam they all showed up straight away when I logged in to the game. I like this way of things via steam. I have the flexibility of using the game on steam, but being able to get the latest content from the store without feeling left behind with non steam users.
