Holtzauge Posted November 22 Posted November 22 (edited) Since this forum is closing down, and will only be available as "read only" in the future, I want to make the community aware that there is a new book available that covers the flight performance of these two fighters in detail: And not only speed and climb, but sustained and instantaneous turn performance, dive, dive and zoom and energy retention etc. And since I know many in the forum share my passion for historical accuracy when it comes to the finer details of flight performance, I just wanted to give a heads-up that there is new material to reference when evaluating the in-game flight models we have in CloD. Details about the book and what it contains can be found here: https://militaryaircraftperformance.com/ww2-aircraft/ Edited November 23 by Holtzauge 2 2
AndyJWest Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Have there been reviews of this book published in aviation history/aviation technology sources? I'm curious as to how it has been received.

Reviews of the previous book about WW1 Aircraft Performance can be found here though: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/82895-new-book-on-ww1-aircraft-design-and-performance/ https://theaerodrome.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75670
AndyJWest Posted November 22 Posted November 22 I was hoping for reviews from more formal published sources. You make some fairly specific claims regarding performance, based apparently on your own modelling, and I wondered whether this analysis was being accepted as valid.

Well, I formally released the book only a few days ago, so unfortunately there are no such reviews yet. However, here are the pages from the book that detail how the validation of the C++ simulation was done, and which I think should allow you to form your own opinion if you find them accurate enough. AndyJWest Posted November 22 Posted November 22 I'd rather see the opinions of people better qualified than me to judge.
