Are there manuals as in most air forces, for each aircraft re: switches, manual movable bits in the cockpit, etc. Each aircraft has its own layout and organization. It would be useful to know where and what each item is before take off, no? For example: where is the trim wheel (or whatever) for the P-39? We know where it is for the Bf-109 (see Col Ninny files) but other aircraft? Maybe they are listed somewhere. I am just learning my way around the whole program.

This will be a great help to you, as it includes labeled cockpit photos of every plane. He also has a separate app. for the Flying Circus planes too:

Charlo:

I have looked at the pages you referenced and don't find what I need. What I need is: A photorealistic layout of the cockpit with 'hot-linked" switches, gauges, wheels, dials that are active or at least labeled so the beginner knows one switch etc. from the other. At this level I do not need aircraft specs - rate of climb, weight, etc. Maybe later.

And how do I move around the cockpit? That is, how do I roll the POV around the cockpit to look at different aspects of the interior? I have no trouble with outside views, but cannot look at corners of the cockpit to evaluate settings. I note that Col ...Ninny...Whatever is able to do that in his multiple examples.

Appreciate the assistance. Amazing program but a high barrier to entry.

As far as I am aware the cockpit layouts for the most number of planes are in the app. I recommended above. That is probably the closest you will get.

To access them in the app., select a plane, then click on the “cockpit” button. In the window that pops up you can then grab the corner of the window and drag it to make it larger. You can scroll your mouse wheel to make the labeled cockpit images larger for you to study.

it’s an impressive and useful tool! 🙂
