I assume with the closure of the website. CloD won't be on the new website?

I mean it isn't part of 1C anymore, so is this the final days of the CloD forums here?

We'll know on 24th Nov. It is same franchise, so, I do not see why it shouldn't be there.

Don't be daft. They wouldn't dare.  The CloD forum is required reading.

CloD could appear under "Other Sims & Games" if that category is available for the new website. Otherwise it's time to start composing a final sign off🫡

Doesn’t feel like we’ll know until we know.  At one level it is soooooo confusing to deal with ATAG, Discord, iL-2….. and those poor sods at  Steam.  So if there were one less, so that conversation would be more centred, would that actually be a good thing?  I don’t know, just asking.

I agree, but apart from you, no-one else in the team speaks to the potential purchasers, so losing the CloD forums just means one less location not to hear from TFS :)

Discord has died (in terms of TFS interaction), ATAG has been a dead zone for interaction for years now and as you mention, Steam, well that's been dead for decades.

ATAG! Don't make me laugh; I was banned from ATAG shortly after the release of Blitz for commenting on the state of the UI.

There is no point in pursuing conversations that TFS does not want to have🤣

Discord?  Maybe also time to revisit banishments?  Maybe they are more like taking a hiatus?

Arguably I would also like to learn what your UI complaints are.  I wasn’t around then.  Maybe offline.

There is a disconnect between what the TFS volunteer group has capacity to implement vs what TFS end users might be requesting. UI has been endlessly discussed. There is little benefit in detailing to volunteers what UI enhancements end users desire when TFS hasn't committed to making specific upgrades to UI or to AI coding. TFS volunteers might be happy applying their skills to TFS projects for many years to come without TFS producing any new product or enhancement to Blitz/DWT. Volunteer' and end user interests are not necessarily in perfect alignment any more than TFS volunteer group and TFS/Fulqrum commercial interests are likely to be in total alignment.🤔

UI improvements were found to be excessively demanding regarding time and resources required to make these changes (think VR implementation once again).

I think this has been said before.

EDIT: Yes they were intended, but shelved.

Sharing the same brand "IL-2 Sturmovik" is not sufficient enough for keeping the principle of a Cliffs of Dover subforum in the next IL-2 forum. Now things have changed, they are the way they are : IL-2 Great Battles and IL-2 Korea belong to 1C. IL-2 Dover belongs to Fulqrum. We have a Dover subforum here, I hope we won't have it there.

AI Behaviour Improvements

- Improvements to player command of AI to be assigned.
- Improvements to AI return to base and threat reaction behaviours to be assigned.

If still "to be assigned" we remain in "good intentions" mode. 😉

Now that it's a different company, it's possible that some data sharing is no longer possible due to issues related to GDPR and privacy laws.

Based on various information circulating in the news, I get the impression that the EU and some other countries are strict about this.

You can find the EULA for the previous version of IL-2: Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover (not Blitz) here (it has not been updated).

# I don't remember if there was a section about sharing personal information with other companies, a pre-confirmation button, or an acceptance button during installation.

A while ago, I asked Fulqrum Publishing on Discord to find out where the Blitz Edition End User License Agreement (EULA) was and what it said, but I didn't receive a reply.

This may not be helpful, but some games by other developers from the same Fulqrum Publishing company have PRIVACY LEGAL NOTES that also explain how personal data is shared.

Do any of you remember "Tree" I use to get such a kick out of his fights with Oleg back in the old 1c Banana forum. I made this cartoon for him and he got a big kick out it. His avatar was Sherlock Holms. This was all happening before Cliffs of Dover came out

Oh, really.

Even simple thing like changing wallpapers to less "noisy" version (like in original 2011 game build) would improve readability multiple times.

Compare these:

I registered there. But I do not have access to any uploaded media files like screenshot. Tech support not responding.  That is just conversion of old 1C "yellow" forum with new background color and banner :)

Ahh. Some actual news.

So no change to the UI.  No real surprise but at least we won't have to go through that "we're looking at it" nonsense anymore.

Does it matter? It's not like it's serving any useful purpose is it? A forum is meant to be a place for dialogue and discussion, this is an empty vessel, on evidence TFS have long since abandoned ship and have zero intention of engaging with their paying customers here.

Of course it does! This is where we discuss TFS abandoning ship with abandon.

Only within the restrictive bounds of discussing abandonment with abandon, there will be no abandoning of gay abandon here, no sir!

I think that CloD will always remind me of that house Gene Hackman was building in Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven: too many questionable decisions made everywhere along the way.🤨
