To the creators of IL2 - Carrer Mode / Mission / Campaigns

Hello to all,

 

I will start by saying thank you for creating IL2 and the hard work that the IL2 staff do for the benefit of players entertainment.

 

However, I would like to put forward additional ideas for the game. Which I am sure that you have most likely considered at one time or another. These ideas are to enhance what is already an awesome game.

 

These ideas are for Career mode / Missions / Campaigns:

 

1. AI generated medium bombers in larger formations, including if possible heavy bomber formations B17 / B24's.

2. Greater mix of mission selection in career mode, (Open up for more maritime, harbor, factory, HQ building, ........etc)

3. Increased time compression, in order to play more missions when in career mode.

4. Quicker career path to rank and medals during career mode, especially when playing in a RAF career.

5. Ribbon bars for all medals received placed under the wings for RAF / US AAF career, and for German career, placed above the pilot's badge, medals below that.

6. Unlock Tempest (Acft) ground atk munitions in career mode including drop tanks. (Give the pilot better options for his tasked mission)

7. New Night fighter career mode for both RAF (Mosquito Acft only) & German (ME 110 / JU88 only Acft). Including, if possible, to have AI Lancaster / Halifax bombers added in).

8. New Costal Command career mode in Normandy & Greater battles (Western Front) career.

9. New RAF career mode - Bomber Command Pathfinder Pilot; Mosquito Acft only, and able to receive the Pathfinder badge, for Normandy / Great Battles (Western Front) campaign careers.

10. Kill markings on the acft during career mode, including Bomb / V1 Kills / Msn markings.

11. Larger formations of AI acft 12+ or when engaging medium bombers 24 - 32+,

12. Better camouflage of all ground targets, vehicles with cammo netting / natural vegetation draped over all vehicles (Tree branches / Bushes). Hidden better in the tree line or deep inside the forests......etc (Just like you see in documentary films)

13. Defensive positions better camouflaged, blended in better with the natural vegetation. 

14. Additional Medals to be awarded;

 

British (RAF Career):

Geroge Cross / Conspicuous Gallantry Medal (FLT SGT SNCO mode) / Military Medal (FLT SGT SNCO mode) / Air Force Medal (FLT SGT SNCO mode) / George Medal / 1939-45 Star / Aircrew Europe Star / France & Germany Star / Defence Medal & War Medal 1939-45 (Earned while in career mode) / Croix De Guerre (French / Belguim Medal, sometimes awarded at times to other nations) / Airmen Cross (Netherlands).

 

USA (US AAF Career):

European Campiagn Medal / American Defence Medal / Soldier's Medal / Distinguished Service Medal.

 

German (Luftwaffe Career):

Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross / Clasp to the Iron Cross / Eastern Medal / Wehrmacht Long Service medal Medal (4 Yrs) / Shields - Crimea, Kuban, Cholm, and Demyansk shields / Luftwaffe Cuff Titles - Fighter and Bomber cuff titles / Flying Clasp of the Luftwaffe - Day fighter, Bomber, Night Fighter;

Flying Clasps -

Bronze = 20 Msn

Silver = 60 Msn

Gold = 110 Msn

Hello Michael.

 

Some of these topics already had been discussed multiple times.

 

1+11 - Heavy bombers and large formations will not be introduced in IL2-BOX  due to games engine limits

 

3 - time compression is limited by your CPU ressouces since the game "simulates" all planes completely during compression

      Sometimes you cant even get 2x

1, 3 and 11 will be addressed for the new Korea engine.

 

The GB engine + content will not get any huge changes.

I'll just add:

6: Tempests didn't use bombs until the last week of the war

 

- The Military Medal was an Army award, not RAF, by WWII
- We already have the Air Force Medal

- We already have the European–African–Middle Eastern Campaign Medal 

- We already have the Eastern Front Medal and Kuban Shield

- We already have the Front Flying Clasp in all its forms except for the night fighter and recon versions

The other stuff isn't likely or is being reserved for Korea.
