Just had a look at the site stats (at the bottom of the main forums page) and see there are over 800 members and it's only been going for what, a day and a half?!

I'm so pleased to see the excitement and positivity that used to exist in the IL2 community is back, along with so many old names. That has to be down to the reputation of 777 Studios and their communication strategy (ie - do some).

It is still very early in the process but what a start! Now let's just all keep our expectations in check...

Is it excitement or curiosity?

Regardless of what is said I think the Jury is out at the moment, we have been fleeced and burnt by 1C and I feel the majority are sitting on the fence at the moment.

Just my thoughts at the mo. ;)

Fool me once shame on you ; fool me twice shame on me .

It all remains to be seen.... ;)

Certainly a mix of both I think. For me, I'd pretty much realised CloD wouldn't work by the time my pre-ordered disc had arrived so I had sort of written off that 60 pounds or dollars or whatever currency it was that I bought it in.

In my mind this is a separate, new thing, despite the naming continuity. She's early days yet though, so who knows.

IMHO, everyone needs to let go of the CLOD Fiasco. This is a whole new project. If what I have seen and experienced with ROF, and especially Jasons' handling of the Forum Community updates, is any indication of how IL2BOS will go, then we are in for a good ride. Of course only time will tell, but I am looking for big things. I just hope they can overcome the onscreen limitations of the current Digital Nature engine. WWII is much bigger aerial conflict than WWI is. Good luck Jason and Company.

I think we need to look on this as pilots looked on their planes back in 1910 or so. Yeah things aren't lookingh really bright at the moment and in the past we did encounter some bad situations. But unless we get our hands dirty, spend a few bucks and swallow some disappointment....we won't see the genre develop. That's how I look at it anyway.

Long time il2 lurker just checking in..

It could well be just the kind invite that sent to all that lurk on the banana forum by Jason and company that the membership count has suddenly gone up.

But it is good to see so many familar names from IL2 and CLOD forums gathering here to see what happens next.

I really do like  that we appear to be getting communication from devs after such a long period of  static on the CLOD forum, and look forward to the new.

Enjoy IL2 series from demo days for its playability and CLOD for its beauty, ROF I will have to give it another go, but the continous updates of progress give me lots of hope for the new.

I think that is because the WWII era has been so disappointing over the bast few years. Sims have come out with potential but in the end wind up being less than expected.  If CoD had been released in it's current state in 09 it would probably be doing a lot better. As it was it was released much later than expected and when released itbtook so long to fix it to where it was enjoyable by a wider range of folks that itbecame nonviable. This is one reason why even though the fact that 1CG777 has decided to go with DX9 is a good indicator ofnhow this will go. They want to have this thing run on a wide variety of PCs. The better this thing does in the first months the brighter it's future will be.
