Jaegermeister Posted November 13 Posted November 13 (edited) As I mentioned in the General Discussion update 6.107 thread, here is a preliminary Zeppelin scenario mission. Zeppelin_Scenario_Mission_V1.zip In order to play this mission, you will need to unzip the compressed file to your desktop, and drag the "Data" folder to your main IL-2 Sturmivik Forgotten Battles main directory. Alternately, you can copy all the mission files and paste them under "Missions". There are still some AI and damage model issues to be addressed in an upcoming patch, but the mission works correctly and demonstrates the manner of generating a damage report from the Zeppelin. Feel free to do as you wish with this mission, as it will be included in the Scenario Missions for Flying Circus as soon as all the bugs are worked out. You will fly with your companions from Escadrille N.152 Aéronautique Militaire in the Nieuport 17 to intercept Zeppelins that were blown off course on their return from England on the night of October 20, 1917. Your task is to force the Zeppelin to land so that it can be captured intact for study and evaluation. The Zeppelin currently will generate reports for On_Destroyed, and On_Damaged. It is set up to generate a damaged report at 10% damage, so either setting the report parameters to Step = 10%, or Threshold = 90 (90% intact) you can trigger an event such as end attack, new waypoint, etc. at 10% damage or total destruction. I have found that it takes about 750 rounds of .303/7.69mm ammunition to generate this amount of damage, and you are better off hitting different areas to get some damage over various hit boxes. The Zeppelin will follow waypoints and do a maximum of 100 kph, and if you want it to land you should give it waypoints of consecutively lower altitude with the last one 20 meters or so above ground level and 0 mph/kph speed. There are several known bugs still, including AI fighters not attacking consistently, Zeppelin AI gunners not firing at attackers at high altitude, and some areas of damage not modeled. In addition there may be other changes in the works I am not aware of. I have translated this mission to German, French, Spanish and Russian using an AI translation app, so if anyone would like to edit those files and send them back, feel free to do that and I will update the files before it is added to the game. If anyone has questions about the mission posted above just ask, because I have spent the last week trying to figure out how to make this big gas bag do what I want it to do.
