GenMarkof007 Posted November 8 Author Posted November 8 (edited) The short storyline of the Battle for Komesht-Tyrg! ---- AAS-SCG IL-2 Tank Crew PvP Event - Battle for Komesht-Tyrg - Sept. 1942. This mission will be played on the Northwest sector of the New map Odessa. ---- In September 1942, the Finnish 303rd Panzer Division launched an assault on the hilly village of Komesht-Tyrg, which was held by the 20th Russian Armoured Brigade. The objective of the attack was to secure the northern approaches to the Odessa sector and to weaken Soviet resistance along the ridgeline. Finnish Panzer and infantry units advanced at dawn under heavy artillery fire, moving through smoke and dust towards the Soviet outer defences. The 20th Armoured Brigade responded quickly, countering with leased Shermans and KV-1s that were positioned in hull-down cover along the eastern slopes. Intense close-quarter fighting erupted across the vineyards and ravines. Finnish assault guns successfully knocked out several enemy tanks but sustained heavy losses from concealed anti-tank guns and mines. By late afternoon, Finnish forces had seized the western ridge and the rail depot, while Soviet units maintained their positions in the town center and on Church Hill. By nightfall, Komesht-Tyrg was in flames—the town was divided, both sides were exhausted, and neither could claim victory at that moment. Good Luck to all pilots and tankers for this next battle! ---- Mission Conditions: Weather Report - Weather: 21 °C, Wind strength is 3 m/s from 306 degrees. - Cloud Cover: Thunderclouds at 800 m - possible moderate rain. - Visibility: Moderate to Good. - Mission duration: 3 hours + 10 minutes at the start (waiting time before the start signal) - NO Intel available for the commanders (weather didn't help!) - Please wait for the start signal and message before rolling out of the tank bases or the Airfields. - Tankers must be at all times inside the Black Zone for Tank Battles. The weather report will be updated 48 hours before the event. Victory Conditions: The Axis must capture the village of Komesht-Tyrg while destroying enemy troops in the surrounding area. The Allies must defend the village at all costs and eliminate German troops and tanks to secure safe access to the west of Komesht-Tyrg. If time expires, the defending side will win. Red Army Objectives: - 1. Destroy the bridge located at coordinates (0803.3), target of opportunity. - 2. Land 32 paratroopers at coordinates (0905.4) using the C-47 Airborne aircraft. Flares and bonfires mark the landing site. The landing door must be opened before dropping the paratroopers. Minimum drop height is 200 meters. Luftwaffe Objectives: - 1. GenMarkof007 Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 (edited) S! All IL-2 Tankers and pilots, the next AAS-SCG PvP TC Event will occur: Sunday, November 23rd at 7:00 p.m. Paris Time (1 pm EST - NA) --- A few questions and answers to help you with your first time in the PvP TC Event --- Q1: At what time should I get on AAS Chat Discord? A: Each team (player) should be online on the AAS Team Chat Discord at least 15-20 minutes before the start of the event so that you can organize and talk strategy. We might wait a few minutes so that we have enough tankers to start the mission. Thanks for your understanding. Q2: What must I do when I spawn inside the mission? A: When you enter the mission, please zoom the map area so that you can see the Tank spawns (or Airfield) and select the one you want to spawn in. Be careful, if you spawn on the wrong side, a penalty of 120 minutes (2 hours) will be incurred to respawn on your own side. Q3: When I spawn, where do I go for the Battle (after the mission start signal)? A: When you spawn, you will see base signs. Just follow the arrows. If you see signs (Do not pass = noway), that means this is not the way to the Battle. Q4: How do I repair, refuel or rearm (RRR)? A: For tankers, locate the blue smoke for Axis forces or the red smoke for Allied forces at each tank spawn point, and then stop your engine near that area. The airfields use yellow smoke for RRR. Please keep in mind that it is not possible to re-arm (add parachute troops), so complete your flight and then take a new parachute drop plane. Your plane will reappear on the list of available planes. NEW - A Forward Operating Base (FOB) with an ammo truck has been positioned near the Battle Area for both teams. If the enemy locates it, they can destroy the ammo truck. Q5: Why do I need to stay in the Black Zone Area? A: Since the main task for the Allies is to defend the flag and for the Axis to capture it, this will give you enough space for the main battles. Be careful, even in the BLACK AREA, you may have AI AT guns in each zone near enemy spawns. If you stay inside the town area, you won't be shot by AT guns, just by enemy tanks or planes! ---- Q6: Why is the flag not moving when I am beside it? A: If the flag is not moving, a good chance an enemy tank is near the radius of the flag. You need to eliminate it before the flag can move. Q7: Why is the flag moving very slowly? (not like on other MP servers) A: The overall time that the flag needs to be taken by the Axis (overall time is 18-20 minutes), so that the Allies may counter that attack and retake the flag. You don't need to move the flag at the top. Q8: Why do I need to download the skin packs on HSD? A: These skin packs (AAS) and (SCG) are made to have a more immersive time when tanking or flying in multiplayer missions or PvP TC events. Also, most tank skins are made by the IL-2 Tank Crew community. Q9: Why am I always getting disconnected from the server? A: If your PING (Internet connection) is too high, you might get disconnected. We are trying our best to keep the tick delay below 7, which helps the server's CPU! Q10: Why are we using this tank set? A: For each (PvP TC Event), we are trying to find the tanks that will fit the best with the scenario. As you know, the numbers and types of tanks are very limited in the IL-2 Tank Crew module. Q11: Why fictional battles? A: We are always looking for interesting new missions for our TC PvP Event. Often, we have to design a fictional battle because we lack missions, maps, tanks, planes, and more! ---- Q12: The parachute drop planes on each side do not carry the same number of parachutes.? A: However, we calculated the percentages based on the number of parachutes in each plane, ensuring that both sides achieve the same number of drops to reach 100%. Fighters should try to escort and protect the Parachute Drop planes. Each side only has 10 Para Drop planes. NEW - The para drop target has been adjusted for both sides, with only two drops required to receive the bonus tanks. Q13: Why didn't my last para drop change the percentage for my team? A: Be very careful; the area for the para drop is quite challenging. If you drop your parachute team over water or forested regions, they may not survive, and you won't receive any percentage for that drop. All of your para needs to land safely to update your score (%). Minimum drop height is 200 meters. Q14: Are the Airfield runways long enough for the para-drop planes? A: To assist with the takeoff, we have removed some plane bunkers to extend the runway length. We conducted several tests, and the takeoff used three-quarters of the runway. Make sure to familiarize yourself with all the planes that are available for your team. Q15: Why are some of the mods locked for tanks and planes? A: Since this is primarily a Tank Crew mission, we have decided to restrict the use of the big bombs for planes. Additionally, we have limited certain modifications and payloads for tanks. To select mods (available), just choose the ones you want. NEW Q16: Why are some of the fences or houses not on the ground? A: Since the Odessa map is still a Work In Progress (WIP), they may have some elements in the village of Komesht-Tyrg elevated or showing off the ground. The mission maker (me) is not able to repair anything related to the Odessa map. Q17: If I'm not able to play the complete 3 hours? A: No worries, just let your commander know. That way, he might use another strategy when you leave. We kindly request that most players stay the full 3 hours so that you can support your team until the end. Q18: Can we give some comments after the event? A: Absolutely, we will conduct a post-mortem meeting with all participants in the Bar-English channel on AAS Discord. Everyone is welcome to join us. Please be mindful when sharing your thoughts, whether they are positive or negative, as this will be very helpful! We aim to reach 40 players and more, so please spread the word to all your friends! Everyone is welcome to join us. Good Luck to all pilots and tankers! ---- Cheers, GenMarkof007 ---- Edited November 22 by GenMarkof007

GenMarkof007 Posted November 18 Author Posted November 18 (edited) ----- Important tips for Pilots (Allies and Axis) - for Sunday, Nov. 23rd Event ----- 1. At each airfield, you will find the following: landing fires, landing markers, a runway indicator line, an airfield tower with a windsock, and many other items. When taking off, try to take a picture in your head of the surroundings, as this will help you return to it. 2. Please taxi to the landing fires (runway) before taking off. 3. When landing, select the side with the landing fires and markers. There will be two sections marked with yellow smoke where you can refuel, re-arm, and repair your aircraft. 4. Enemy airfields are safe zones. Anti-aircraft artillery (AAA) over the Airfield are dangerous, and you may lose a plane unnecessarily. Instead, focus on assisting with the parachute drop and supporting ground troops (tanks in the Battle Area). 5. Regarding the flak sectors on each side, we recommend staying away from them, as they are known to target and destroy enemy planes. 6. All pilots need to bring their plane back to a friendly Airfield. Despawning in flight is not permitted. 7. Given that the cloud level might be quite low for the event (latest weather report), exercise caution during parachute drops. Each drop zone is very hilly and surrounded by forests. Remember, if a paratrooper lands in the forest or a river, they may not survive, and the drop will not count. 8. Ground troops (Special Units) are already deployed near the drop zone. They will assist you in determining where to drop your troops. A message will confirm when you get 100% of the drop done! 9. To return to base (airfield), look for city fires to help guide you home (always near the Airfield). 10. A target of opportunity, a bridge, has been added for each team; be cautious of flak around the bridge area. 11. All planes have Payloads locked... only small bombs are available in this mission. ---- For more info, tips, tanks and plane skins, please read above. And good luck! Cheers, GenMarkof007 ---- Edited November 23 by GenMarkof007
GenMarkof007 Posted November 19 Author Posted November 19 (edited) ---- A few tips to help with your team strategy - AAS-SCG PvP TC Event - this Sunday, Nov. 23rd ---- S! All pilots and tankers, the next AAS-SCG TC PvP Event is in a few days. Date: Sunday, November 23rd, at 7:00 p.m. Paris Time (1 pm EST NA). ---- - There's no need to have the flag at the top after capturing it. Why? Because when flags are positioned lower, they are harder to see and locate. - Flak trucks serve more purposes than just shooting down planes; they can also be used as reconnaissance vehicles due to their speed. - While travelling on roads is generally faster, it’s often more beneficial to go off-road when entering a town, as most teams tend to cover the roads. - For defenders (the Allies), it's crucial to locate the flag at the start of the game and share this information with your team. This makes it easier to defend if the Axis captures it. - Keep air support communications open, so you can easily request air assistance when needed. - Attempt to complete the side mission at the beginning; this way, you'll have heavy tanks available for the remainder of the mission. - Try to use the tanks or planes that you know how to fly/combat with. For the heavy tanks, try to verify with your commander if you can take one. Final reminders: - Try to join the AAS Discord about 15-20 minutes early to ensure we have enough participants to start the mission. - The commanders on your side can provide you with the strategy and the event password. ---- If you have any questions, please refer back to this post by scrolling up. It should provide almost all the answers you need before the event. Cheers, GenMarkof ---- Note: I might join earlier (in the AAS Discord - Bar English) on Sunday to answer any questions. All, The next AAS-SCG PvP TC Event will take place tomorrow --> Sunday, November 23rd, at 7:00 p.m. Paris Time (1 pm EST NA). ---- We have just received aerial photos of the Village of Komesht-Tyrg area, captured just before the weather made it impossible for any planes to fly over the area. While the visuals are not of the highest quality, they may still assist each team and the commanders. Special thanks to the pilots who made this possible—it was not an easy flight!
