1Sascha Posted Monday at 08:12 AM Posted Monday at 08:12 AM Coming back from the dead after a hot summer (when I really don't want to strap my VR-set to my head), I just realized I'd forgotten nearly everything needed to make IL-2 (or DCS) run properly in VR. I'm still on OpenComposite/OpenXR Toolkit and I was wondering if that was still the preferred way to go? I'm on a 5070 Ti and on a Quest 3 which I run at one of its 1.0x resolutions in the Oculus app and am upscaling that to a higher res within the Toolkit (in-headset menus). Is this still what I should be doing or have things changed in some way during my time off? Has SteamVR become an option, perhaps? Thanks for your input! S.
Aapje Posted Monday at 08:21 AM Posted Monday at 08:21 AM I've seen people report that the performance gap between SteamVR and OpenXR has become much smaller, but if you already have it set up properly with OpenXR, then there is no reason to change.
giftgruen Posted Monday at 10:27 AM Posted Monday at 10:27 AM (edited) Hi Sascha. Do you run the Quest3 via Cable or wireless ? If wireless I'd suggest to try VirtualDesktop. Imho way better than the Meta Link Stuff. Edited Monday at 10:27 AM by giftgruen

giftgruen Posted Monday at 11:18 AM Posted Monday at 11:18 AM Yeah, you at least need a dedicated Wifi6 router - so if you don't mind the cable ..

I would say they are the same. I alway used SteamVR with the Quest3 (via Wifi with AirLink) and it was smooth.
