Hanu Posted Thursday at 06:57 PM Posted Thursday at 06:57 PM (edited) Now when D-5 model and its template came out I noticed that I have to redo my D-3 skins that I made almost five years ago... (Damn the time goes by) What's Gefechtsverband Kuhlmey? It was a detachment led by Knight's Cross holder Kurt Kuhlmey to support Finland during the fiercest fights at summer '44. The were very effective https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detachment_Kuhlmey I've made 18 skins from 3 different staffels of SG3. Colors of the staffels are Stab= Green, 1st = White, 2nd = Red, 3rd = Yellow. Custom Alpha-channel, some fixed/added stencils. I've bee trying to be historically as accurate as possible and add some details that probably no-one even cares. Except the one thing... -as they are historical, they must be put behind a spoiler tag One teaser is possible, the S7+DB. It belonged to Stab Staffel, and thus had "D" painted as green as on the spinner tip also... It was first Stuka to arrive, and was lost 26th of June '44 by AAA at Hannila. Uffz. Hans Esser was wounded. The plane had big "S 7" on bottom of the right wing and "D A" on the left wing. More pics can be found behind spoiler tag, where I've introduced some, but not all. The rest of the demo pictures are in the photos folder at the download location. SG3 at least seemed to have painted the plane's letter on the landing gear. Spoiler S7+AH. Nothing too special here, the tail band was overpainted from the top. (cannot see it in this picture) Was lost in Tarto later on 23.8.1944 S7+BH. He has seen war already in Africa, and the sand camo was overpainted with RLM 80. S7+FL and S7+LL at 3rd Staffel have also served in Africa already S7+EH. "K S" and "W X" painted under the wings. Lost in Tarto also at the same day as S7+AH 23.8.1944. S7+HH. Otherwise quite normal, but antenna was completely white, as in S7+EK also S7+MH. He had gotten some battle damage, and front part of the left wheelcover was blown off. I've tried to reproduce it with alpha channel, but only half of the wheel looks way too bad, so I took the whole cover off. S7+EK from 2nd staffel had also white antenna and clear overpaints on the old markings. It was shot down at Äyräpää 9.7.1944 Skins can be found HERE: Kuhlmey's SG3 D-5 Edited 19 hours ago by Hanu 9
