Missing training and campaign missions in IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Blitz (Steam, Windows 11)

Hello,

 

I’m having trouble with my installation of IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Blitz on Windows 11 (Steam version).

 

The game installs and launches correctly, but several mission folders are missing.

In the directory:

 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz\missions\

 

I only have the folders “single” and “multi” — the “Training”, “RAF”, and “Luftwaffe” folders never appear, even after verifying files, reinstalling the game, running Steam as Administrator, and switching the game language to English.

 

Because of this, I cannot access any training missions or campaign missions inside the game menus.

 

Could you please help me restore or download the missing mission files?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Well. First of all those folders should not be in folder you specified. They are in:

 

<PathToYourSteamLibrary>\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz\parts\bob\mission

 

That is very strange that you do not have access to training missions and campaigns for RAF and LW in game.

Hi jmm0067,

 

check if your folder Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz\parts\bob\mission contains sub-folders training and campaing\campaign_de and campaign\campaign_gb.

 

If not, I would try checking rhe game installation in your Steam client by selecting Properties... - Installed Files - Verify integrity of game files.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game several times, but nothing has happened.

Is there a solution?

You are looking in to WRONG folder.

 

It will help a lot if you record a video showcasing in game menu and pages contents and share it on YouTube. Specifically:
1) In game pages "Single Player" -> "Training"

2)In game pages "Single Player" -> "Campaign"

 

Also provide screenshots of contents of folders:

a) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz\parts\bob\mission"

b) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz\parts\bob\mission\training"

c) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz\parts\bob\mission\campaign"

Here in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz\parts\bob\mission" there are three folders:
- campaing
- Quick
- training

When you start the game in "Single Player," the following options appear:
- Flight Introduction
- Takeoff
- Landing
- First Solo Flight
- Spin. Entry and Recovery

these are the training missions. So it seems you have them.

Are you able to start these training missions?

 

What I don't understand is your description how you access them.

When you select Single Player in the main menu, you should get these options - Training, Quick Mission, Single Mission, Campaign, and Main Menu.

When you select Training, you should get those 5 training missions you listed above.

Is it different in your case?

Lo que no entiendo es tu descripción de cómo acceder a ellos.

Cuando seleccionas Un jugador  en el menú principal, deberías obtener estas opciones: Entrenamiento , Misión rápida , Misión individual , Campaña y Menú principal .

Cuando seleccionas Entrenamiento , deberías obtener las 5 misiones de entrenamiento que enumeraste anteriormente.

¿Es diferente en tu caso?

How can I complete full training sessions with other aircraft in the game, such as the Ju 88 A1?

Well, there is no training  missions for each aircraft. There are only those few "introduction" missions.
 

I recommend you to install my custom Quick Start missions quick - takeoff practice.zip that allow you to spawn in aircraft on the ground. Just extract contents of archive to

 

C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\mission\quick

 

 You'll get two quick missions for Take off practice. 

 

 

 

 

Search for some tutorials on YouTube, like this

 

 

Also I recommend to read official aircraft flash cards. You can find them in game folder steam library:

 

<PathToYourSteamLibrary>\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz\manuals\aircraft

 

or simply open through in game main menu "Manuals".

 

Also "Chuck's Guides" are the best of the best... but could be outdated for some aircraft, due to those were written for older game version (before BLITZ).

but when I select takeoff from Caen and select the Junkers JU 88 A1, it starts directly in flight. I see that I can only start on the ground if I leave the Bf 109 as the default.
Is there any way to start on the ground with the Ju 88 A1?

First of all make sure "Steam Cloud" is switched off so Steam will not mess up game settings (as it did for me recently).

After that start game, go to "Options" -> "Realism" and set up settings like on screenshot. Or at least make sure you have checkbox "Mission Take-off and Landing" checked.
