II./KG 51 Normandy career

Now, I know that career mode can be repetitive at times, but I seriously gotta ask why this unit winds up hitting Eastbourne and Brighton so damn often. We're still in pre-invasion at the moment, and I think we've only bombed different targets two or three times (I can recall a strike against Sandown once, and then another against a town I forget) other than targets near Beachy Head out of some 20-25 sorties, and while I know that we can't exactly do proper Steinbock missions per se without London, it would certainly be nice to get some missions that are more inland and not just coastal, though even just getting missions for other coastal targets more often would be refreshing.

Intruder missions have been a coin toss as well (when I rarely get assigned them anyways), either targeting Friston (odd, given that only day fighter units operated there afaik, but Mozzies and A-20s show up in the air there anyways 🙃) or thankfully one of the other (albeit coastal) airbases away from that area, like a very exciting sortie I had against Selsey near Portsmouth a few days ago. Again, while I know that we can't exactly go after heavies (due to both lack of the aircraft themselves and no East England, where most of them were based), it would be nice to at least go after bomber (or transport) bases and not just "enemy nightfighters have been active lately, hang around this base that wouldn't have them normally" all the time.

I also have to ask, but has anyone encountered enemy intruders at or near their own bases? I certainly haven't seen any so far. I would find it very odd if there was a lack of them, given the prevalence of Mozzie intruders as a threat to not just the Nachtjagd, but other LW aircraft that operated by night. I'm also wondering if anyone has seen Allied aircraft other than mission targets over the UK other than the occasional lone A-20, and how often they've seen them (though this is more affected by career settings really). Any C-47 sightings, for example?

I'll ask about some of these things, as the last time I flew a 410 career I do remember the target selection against England to be limited to coastal targets.

Target selection distance should be improved in the next update. Thanks for bringing this up. 🙂

 

Also, about enemy intruders, they mainly show up near the front lines.
