clod65 Posted Thursday at 12:04 AM Posted Thursday at 12:04 AM Hi All, I like the landscape colours in TF patch 3.0 for il-2 Sturmovik cliffs of dover. Even the water effects look great. They are brighter and not as dull as the current map. Is there a way to have this option in the newer version of clod? As per screenshot:-
FTC_Rostic Posted Thursday at 10:20 AM Posted Thursday at 10:20 AM (edited) In beta landscape textures look pretty much like that... Would love to see more wave foam on the water too. BLITZ on the left, 2011 edition on the right. But BLITZ ground textures are look great too... Current BLITZ ground colors are very much suitable to August / September. Also very much like MSFS 2020/2024 Edited Thursday at 10:25 AM by FTC_Rostic 2
clod65 Posted Thursday at 12:22 PM Author Posted Thursday at 12:22 PM The beta does look nice, when will be seeing that, would that be in the next release?

clod65 Posted Thursday at 08:54 PM Author Posted Thursday at 08:54 PM All good thanks for the follow up.
clod65 Posted Friday at 06:41 AM Author Posted Friday at 06:41 AM ok just thinking about this, is there anyway to get the TF3 map into current Blitz?
FTC_Rostic Posted Friday at 07:56 AM Posted Friday at 07:56 AM 1 hour ago, clod65 said: ok just thinking about this, is there anyway to get the TF3 map into current Blitz? I do not think so... If you still own original Cliffs of Dover you can play 2011 release by using Cloder.exe which has pretty much same textures as on your screenshot or install TF4.312 beta patch, but textures will be way more different... but still not so dark as BLITZ.
clod65 Posted Friday at 09:17 AM Author Posted Friday at 09:17 AM Yeh been reading a lot on the matter, I read about this Cloder.exe file, but said I had to post before downloading I'll see if I can find it here on this site I also tried TF4.312 and TF 4.0, the map is darker, so assume it was changed in these two releases, but not in TF3.0 Thanks again for your help.
marcost Posted Friday at 09:18 AM Posted Friday at 09:18 AM It's a real shame that there is no option for modding even just the basics like textures, sounds, GUI etc. At least it would give us something to do whilst we're waiting for 6.0...
clod65 Posted Friday at 09:24 AM Author Posted Friday at 09:24 AM K found it:- https://www.mediafire.com/file/c2tcbxy8pqwe67u/CloDer_v0.0.0.1.7z
Mysticpuma Posted Friday at 09:31 AM Posted Friday at 09:31 AM This is a video from a few years ago showing the different landscape colours. Around the 40 second mark it shows the (stark) difference between the original game, the last mod version and the (then) current work in progress. This video from 2-years ago shows what was then the current landscape changes. However since that video there have been another two huge Speedtree updates (to their software), it is unclear as we don't get updates anymore, if TFS will be using the latest version.
clod65 Posted Friday at 09:50 AM Author Posted Friday at 09:50 AM (edited) Thanks Guys, I can't believe I got the original clod working in win11 using CloDer_v0.0.0.1.7z The only way I got it working before was applying TF3.0 mod. Thanks again TFC_Rostic. The 2011 game actually runs quite well, maybe I just got that nostalgic vibe. I do remember the original map quite colorful. Edited Friday at 01:23 PM by clod65
clod65 Posted Friday at 01:35 PM Author Posted Friday at 01:35 PM Ok some screenshots from 2011 clod, just superb.
FTC_Rostic Posted Friday at 02:11 PM Posted Friday at 02:11 PM (edited) IDK... the only good thing about 2011 is better looking water and cool icing effect. Well, also there were light in houses (what is probably not historically accurate for that period) and chimney smokes. 4.312 had the best bombs explosions effects... Regardless to all above in general BLITZ look way better than previous game versions. Edited Friday at 02:12 PM by FTC_Rostic
FTC_Rostic Posted Friday at 02:25 PM Posted Friday at 02:25 PM But BETA in 2023-24 looked even better. 4
clod65 Posted Friday at 11:03 PM Author Posted Friday at 11:03 PM (edited) Nice screenshots, thanks for sharing. I started this thread cause I just found the ground bit dull in blitz version, it's just my opinion. To add some brightness and colour I think would enhance the immersion level if this can be done at all, I know that the graphics aren't what they are now, I appreciate the developers of the sim, and what Team Fusion Simulations have done and are still doing, It is remarkable. I did find Videos on you tube flying high over England, trying to convey what I am getting at. Edited Friday at 11:12 PM by clod65
marcost Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago First photo - Donnington Castle, could see that from my house when I was growing up 🙂

You can enhance that by using reshade. My two must use shaders are "Deband" for sky and "Vibrance" for enhanced colors. WARNING! ReShade may cause game Crash To Desktop! Quote ReShade 6.3.3 setup from scratch: 1) Create empty folder with any name (for example MyNewFolder) and copy any .exe file there (launcher64.exe for example). 2) Install reshade to that folder. 3) remove that .exe from MyNewFolder. So, there is just reshade files left. 4) move all those reshade files to <CloD install dir>\parts\core 5) Enjoy! Here is all my reshade files. You can just extract contents of "ReShade.6.3.3.zip\BLITZ-reshade" in to "<CloD install dir>\parts\core" and use my settings. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZIYeucy-KcU2nMtcCUYtgCwqHegu5xr6/view?usp=sharing Should look like this: You can tweek vibrance value in game "Ctrl+Alt+HOME" or in file "ReShadePreset.ini" find: [Vibrance.fx] Vibrance=0.150000 you may like to set Vibrance=1.000000 Edited 14 hours ago by FTC_Rostic
FTC_Rostic Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago (edited) Or you can play with all the shaders and get result like shown below. Just extract contents of "ReShade.6.3.3.zip\ReShade Files (no custom config)" in to "<CloD install dir>\parts\core" In game open ReShade overlay ("Ctrl+Alt+HOME") and set check boxes like in video (+DPX that I forgot) or as on last screenshot. WARNING! ReShade may cause game Crash To Desktop! Edited 14 hours ago by FTC_Rostic
clod65 Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago That's an idea, Thanks for that, will give it ago.
FTC_Rostic Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago 11 minutes ago, clod65 said: Yeh that looks great, I like it In case you'll experience CTD right after game startup being in game menu try delete "ReShadePreset.ini" and use less effects. Also you might like this preset: ReShadePreset.zip
clod65 Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago That's Vibrance set high at 1.000000, I can adjust this of course, now it doesn't look so dull, I knew about reshade, but wasn't sure if it would make too much of a difference It's a good solution for the map, you nailed it with the vibrance, that's what i was looking for. 1
