No, you won't lose anything.

The only problem I had was that I had to remap my Logitech X56 when I upgraded to Windows 11.

I have not upgraded yet because I have to buy a newer motherboard to be compatible, and windows 11 makes my HP Reverb VR headset obsolete, meaning I have to buy a whole new setup. Thankfully I can still use the same peripherals.

😥

Expensive and annoying.

There are plenty of video's on YouTube that show the procedure to install Windows 11 on a PC that doesn't have TPM 2.0. I did it on my media PC and it worked perfectly. As for your G2, you can then use the Oasis driver on Windows 11.

Upgrade to Windows 11 with no TPM 2.0

Thanks for the pointers! Good to know there are options. Not surprising, but certainly welcome news. :salute:

My 2020 Win10 PC is not suitable for Win11 too. And updating the components and the main board to Win11 requirements was a bit too complex for me..

But I have registrated at Microsoft for for the extended security update program (ESU) until October 2016.

At least in the European Union this is for free.

That's 2026 ;)

It's indeed free here in the EU but I believe the rest of the world either has to pay 30 USD or transfer all your files to OneDrive (the free version of which having much too little space to store all the average person's files, as well as, y'know, privacy issues).

Upgrading from Win10->11 usually goes smoothly. In the organisation where I work at the IT department, maybe 10% of people suffer from driver issues afterwards, mostly with the sound or webcam. Installing the latest drivers directly from your computer manufacturer's website should generally solve these issues. In no case will the upgrade touch any of your files; these are safe in any case.

Even with these minor issues that may occur, I heavily recommend anyone to either upgrade (using the tricks posted by dryheat94 if necessary) or register for the ESU program. With time, more and more security issues will arise that will no longer be patched. There is only so much a virus scanner/firewall can protect you from.

I'll wind up upgrading anyway. I'm pretty sure I will need a better system to run Korea at high settings in VR anyway. Also the cable on the HP Reverb is having issues and they don't make them anymore. I can see a Pimax Crystal Light at the end of the tunnel in the near future. Those will be supported for quite some time I'm sure.
