Play with Steam friends

Hi everyone, good evening!

I just wanted to ask a quick question. I’m new to the community. My friend and I are both big fans of World War II aircraft, and since the game finally became available to us, we decided to buy it.

My question is: how can I play with my friend through Steam? I’ve watched several tutorials, but I still don’t quite understand how the server system works.

Basically, we just want to jump into the game together — either to do some dogfights against each other or team up to shoot down some bombers.

There are some guys playing via Steam and as far as I know, you both just log in to game into some online server.
