The reddit AMA resulted in some interesting answers that many of you might not have seen. So I'm replicating the answers that in my opinion  gave some new information:

There will be built in squadrons and friends features. So some social features will be in the game. There is also going to be a shared leaderboard.

Planes should better be able to use taxiways and protected parkings.

Coop campaigns/career is something they are looking into, but will not be in the initial release.

They keep talking about FSR only. Not sure whether it is a language issue, or whether they will only be implementing FSR, not DLSS.

OpenXR will be supported, but Han is claiming that there are disadvantages to it. Not sure what he is talking about.

Han would like to do a Tank Crew for Korea, but it depends on the sales of Korea.

Han says that they won't abandon WW 1 and would like to do WW 1 in the Korea engine, but not soon.

Release of the beta version is planned for winter. This may indicate that release dates slipped a bit, since most of winter is in 2026. But perhaps they will release in December.

Han is hinting at more coming to GB, but he can't say what until an announcement.

Han is now talking about multiple Korean DLCs, while previously they talked about only one (for carriers).

Here are all the answers if you want to read it for yourself: https://old.reddit.com/r/IL2Series/comments/1nne0bw/post_your_questions_for_our_producer_here/

Reading between the lines over there, it sounds like we will be getting Fleet Air Arm aircraft at some point.  This (if it happens) makes me happy, as I have always wanted to fly the Firefly.  I'm still unhappy about not getting the Twin Mustang though.

I guess you are referring to them saying that they'll add one more nation in the Carrier DLC. Adding the Royal Navy would make sense as it would allow for three more carrier-based planes (Fairey Firefly, Hawker Sea Fury and the Supermarine Seafire). The latter would save them work if they later go back to Europe and need to do a Spitfire. The Sea Fury would surely be popular, being a successor to the Tempest. The Firefly could carry over to the Pacific modules.

Luke said on the forum that they will support DLSS, so I think that the FSR part is a language issue.

The team said that it's better FSR as they support all GPUs, so I think it's not a language issue as that's an issue with DLSS.

FSR 4 only supports the latest AMD generation and DLSS 4 of course only support Nvidia, but both are way better than FSR 3 and DLSS 3. So I think that it is a bad idea to only do FSR 3.

Given how people have even been able to mod FSR into DLSS-supporting games, it should be relatively easy to support both.

Hello,

Addition of DLSS probably needs to expend money for royalties to Nvidia and more-so.

FSR 3.1 supports all GPUs and it's easier to implement. Latest Radeon 9000 series can enable FSR 4 if the title has FSR 3.1 or more recent. (And suposedly, 7000 series too in the futre). AMD users will benefit from FSR4 as is run by driver level.

So, the statement stays true: FSR can be run by all GPUs. Also this being DX12 means a better support.

Also, you don't need to run an upscaler. We have been abused by games and engines depending on them, but they are optional and should still be optional.

EDIT: Of course, the more the upscalers the better, but if we are only having one, then FSR which is compatible with all GPUs.

Kind regards,

With QVFR, DFR , DLSS Ultra Performance setting and undervolting a 5090 seems capable of running simple missions in DCS with constant 90fps and using <400W. What can be expected from the Korea module? GB is lagging WRT VR.

When it launches, then we will know! But Dx12 should help. Also, FSR can be added in VR.

The team has said that a 4080 with VR will be more than sufficent.

Again, until it launches we can't see. If someone is wanting to upgrade their PC for Korea, then wait for it to release.

No, there are no royalties. Nvidia wants it in as many games as possible, so people think that they need an Nvidia card.

Lots of people have been very impressed with DLSS 4 in DCS for VR. The high demand of VR has nothing do do with unoptimized games or engines, but with the fact that VR can benefit from a very large number of pixels being rendered.

Note that it is not just about upscaling, but DLAA can also be used as an anti-aliasing method.

I think that it would be a mistake to not support the latest version(s) of this tech, but it is something that can be fixed later on.

My apologies if that's the case! I thougth otherwhise, Aapje.

Then the more, the merrier. But I suspect an initial launch of FSR only. It can be used in VR too.

Kind regards,
