game crashes when loading the initial screen

hello,

i just bought the game through steam but when i start it does the initial loading , load into the starting menu freezes and crashes to desktop. searched about it tried running it though the file with and without admin and deleting the startup file or changing the msaa=0 and putting it fullscreen=0. It lets me log in to the account but again crashes when reaching the starting menu. i have run the file integrity check through steam, exempted it through antivirus , deleted it and downloaded it all over again and still the same problem. any suggestion on how to fix it? pc can definitely run it as it runs way heavier games at full settings.

have you tried to read the Getting Started And Troubleshooting Guide? There is a section called TROUBLESHOOTING there with hints and steps you can try when something is not working.

The guide is accessible through the Manuals option in the main menu.

 

If the guide does not help to solve your problem, I recommend asking for help on this forum.

Yeah i tried everything from there nothing worked until i figured it out while contacting support after many trials and errors  found by coincidence that my PXN 2119 PRO joystick for some reason makes the game crash. Game crashes if it is connected before the launch of the game and it is not recognized if connected after the launch of the game. Don't know but the joystick works perfect in other sims like warthunder msfs xplane 11 and prepar3d. I expect that they will patch it somehow because right now i can't use the joystick in the game and i have to play by mouse and keyboard

You may be reporting this in the wrong section. Is your problem with "IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad" or "IL-2 Cliffs of Dover"? Your reference to msaa and startup file makes me think the former. This is the Dover section, look under "Great Battles" for help if your issue is with Stalingrad.

Oh you are right sorry didn't realise the difference. thank you yeah this a problem with il 2 sturmovick great battles
