chiliwili69 Posted September 26 Posted September 26 As usual with every new headset I just wanted to see what a camera shoot to avoid the typical placebo effect of new devices. I wanted to compare the three headset rendering the same amount of pixels: 44 million, which is the default resolution of the Crystal Light QuestLink settings: 72Hz, SteamVR at 480% resolution, this is 4522x4978 per eye, so 44 Million pixels. BSB2 settings: 75Hz, SteamVR at 174% resolution, this is 4672x4672 per eye, so 44 million pixels. Pimax Crystal Light: 72Hz, PimaxPlay custom resolution (it is 1.0) with SteamVR at 100%, this is 4332x5124 per eye, so 44 Million pixels. 1
chiliwili69 Posted September 26 Author Posted September 26 (edited) I was also testing the BSB2 with the default resolution (25Million pixels, SteamVR at 100% SS) and compare it with the supersampled to 44 million pixel (SteamVR at 174% SS) As you can see there differences are negligible (just softening the edges): I think that instead of doing supersampling in SteamVR it could be better to use that GPU load in applying some MSAA. Charlo-VR Posted September 27 Posted September 27 (edited) BSB2 looks quite good! Pimax added its own sharpening tool in August, and in IL-2 GB it really makes a noticeable difference for me at .7, as if a layer of film was removed. You probably don’t have the Crystal Lignt anymore to retake the above shots using Pimax’ sharpening tool, but it would be an interesting comparison if you do. Edited September 27 by Charlo-VRde

The return process within the 15th days was working perfectly with Pimax. Good to hear that Pimax software get improvements to offer sharper images. 1
