Hi all,

Quick question: does anyone know of a way to edit the built-in scenarios which come with the different expansion packs in Il-2? For example, if you own Flying Circus, there is a set of missions in a "Flying Circus Scenarios" folder (i.e "Airco D.H.2 - A Fighting Chance" etc), or the "Battle of Kuban Scenarios" etc, but I cant find these missions anywhere in the game folder.. are they hidden, or part of some archive or something that needs to be unpacked first?

I ask because the mission "Evening in Paris" seems to have been created before Paris was added to the map, so when you get there in the mission there is no city, just the ground textures.  Someone needs to go into that mission and load the Paris objects group, but I cant find it to make the changes...

Any help?

Only an educated guess but I would think if you used the unGTP tool (do a forum search and you should find it) on the missions.gtp file and unpack it that you will find them in the results from unpacking missions.gtp

Probably also a good idea to raise this as a bug in the Technical issues and bug reports forum, if you haven't already, as it sounds like something that is easily fixed by the devs.

Okay thanks @Stonehouse. I had suspected they were stored in something like that. I will get the tool and try to find the missions.gtp and see if they are in there. Will also report it as a bug and send some screenshots to the devs later 👍

Should find it in IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles\data

@Stonehouse cool, that worked.. mostly.. the ungtp tool failed with this error:

But it had already extracted the mission I needed so it didnt matter. I have fixed the mission now so all is well.

thanks again!

I believe that's normal and just indicates the end of the file has been reached.

Interesting find. Thanks for reporting it. That mission was indeed originally made before the Paris scenery was published, so it would appear that the updated file has not been correctly included in the game. I will make sure the mission gets corrected.

No Problem, and thanks for getting it updated in the future!

To fix it, I just deleted your scenery objects group and re-imported the western front all group, and it that has mostly fixed it.. I noticed a train doing weird stuff (the train engine was facing the wrong way in relation to the carriages) in Paris when I got there, so maybe some railways have changed slightly since the Paris scenery was updated? But everything else seems fine so far, and its very cool flying into Paris and seeing the Eiffel tower in the distance as all the other buildings come into view in the late evening light.. a very beautiful mission, thanks for making it!

You're welcome. I'm glad you are enjoying it.

Yes, they changed the map significantly when they did the Paris Scenery. I know I updated the file when it was complete, but there are so many mission files and updates that it is very difficult to keep them all straight.

Like I said, thanks for mentioning it, and if you ever see anything else that looks out of place, by all means report it.
