Fran13 Posted August 29 Posted August 29 Hello everyone, For mobility reasons I use a laptop with a 13th-gen i7, 16 GB RAM, and an NVIDIA 4060 8 GB GPU. The laptop has a fairly powerful USB-C port that works as a graphics output. A few days ago, I bought the Quest 3S, which give me good performance in DCS. The problem I’m facing is with IL-2. When I run the game in fullscreen at 1920×1080, I get between 160 and 220 FPS. Strangely, when I connect the Quest 3S, the FPS won’t go higher than 35. I understand that the Quest 3S render roughly double the resolution of 1080p with both eyes, but 35 FPS still seems very low for a game that’s more than 10 years old. Any clue where the issue might be? Thanks.
giftgruen Posted August 29 Posted August 29 There are 'some' performance relevant thing. To find the correct direction: - You use Steam VR ? Turn supersamling down ( Steam resolution factor ) - Turn of Antialiasing ( MSAA gives a big performance hit, but also TSAA costs something ) - Quality of Clouds and Shadows. There are a lot of tips here in the forum. The tips that apply to a Quest3 or Quest Pro should also apply to a Quest 3S. A 4060/8GB generally is not really "beefy" so you cannot play in VR with high settings.
