tattywelshie Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I'm presuming we've all flown each of the aircraft in GB, but, what have not 'really' flown, and by that I mean, started up a career and completed a good chunk of missions? For me, its the HS129 and JU87 - not sure why, but I've literally only flown in them a handful of times. That's going to change though, I've just embarked on a career flying the duck! Time will tell if I make it past even mission number one, my mud pounding skills are somewhat to be desired, and I'm presuming I'm going to get gunned down before I reach even mission 2 or 3!
Kubert Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Mosquito. I literally don't know how it looks from the inside. Other than that i flown in everything I own. At least few circles around an airfield, some landings and so. 1

Billsponge1972 Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Hey tattywelshie, if you go into your data folder and open up the startup.cfg file, there is a setting called gamma. It's usually set at 1.0 but if you move it to something like 1.2 or 1.3 the skies will brighten enough to see the night missions. This worked for me. 1 1
Gambit21 Posted August 15 Posted August 15 I haven't flow most aircraft. I didn't even fly the Jug or the A-20 when making Havoc and Hell Hawks. Last thing I flew was the Spit V when it was released, before that the Yak-3 and IL2 back when there was only Stalingrad. I'll bet I've only actually flown a total of 10 hours in GB total, ever. Just no interest, been waiting for PTO and remains so.
Rjel Posted August 16 Posted August 16 As I’ve gotten older, my flight sim time has decreased markedly. Lack of time isn’t the issue but my lack of want to has been. I just upgraded my system and added VR to the mix hoping it’ll reignite my desire to play and to be ready for Korea. I haven’t flown most of the recent releases, but I think I have most of the content on my system. So, in answer to your question, I can honestly say I haven’t flown several of the recent releases. I spend 90% of my time in Mustangs whenever I do fly. I’m pretty content in them.
BlitzPig_EL Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I've flown everything in the sim at least a couple times well, I've sort of flown the Gotha, if you can call that flying. Could the real ones have been that awful? Oh and the Waco glider I flew jusst once, from an air start. Glided down to a landing and that was that. That one was a waste of Dev time, IMHO. My fall back aircraft though always remain the P40, Mustang, Tempest, Spit XIV, Mc. 202, A20, or Bf110, and if I must, the Bf109F4. When I fly the old kites, the Sopwith Tripe is my main mount.

My scripted campaign wooden wonder has mostly daylight missions for the Mosquito. It's free in the scripted campaign section of the forum. 😄 1 1
kraut1 Posted August 17 Posted August 17 I would say most of the ww1 planes. In the 90s I loved ww1 flight sims. But after I realized, that an allied pilot in an burning plane has absolutely no chance to survive it was no fun for me any more. WW2 was brutal too, I know, but not all pilots were killers and for me it is okay just to down an enemy and I am always glad if I see if he bails out or is able to make a crash landing and survives. This is just my personal point of view🙂 2

Blitzen Posted August 20 Posted August 20 Other than the wonderfully, excentrically odd I-16 and even more so I-153 , I hardly fly any Soviet planes at all... 1 2
spreckair Posted August 20 Posted August 20 I am attracted to the earlier years of WWII, so I am stuck on the Eastern Front. As a result, I rarely fly the later aircraft. I look forward to the new Leningrad and Odessa developments. If CLOD can get VR working, I will likely spend a chunk of my time there, but alas... 1
tattywelshie Posted August 21 Author Posted August 21 Quick update...I've officially started a career in the HS129, and am LOVING it! I've survived 4 missions so far...although one ended up with me injuring myself on landing and one ended up with an engine failure and me bailing out over friendly lines. To show for it, I've destroyed 3 x machine guns, and a truck, honestly though, I'm really enjoying it, she's a very stable ground attack platform and actually, the ground attack career negates some of the AI issues that are present in the game as well.
