jollyjack Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) The Belgian ace Willie Coppens, known for balloon busting, flew the Hanriot HD1 mainly. Doing a search on him he seemed to have worn out quite a lot of planes. This is a version i concocted so far, but tips are welcome. There was some text behind the cockpit i could not find, probably on his popular blue painted plane. I will post it later on Haluter's. Edited August 11 by jollyjack 3 1
BMA_Hellbender Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Beautiful, thank you! The text behind the cockpit is "Nemo me impune lacessit" (None shall attack me with impunity -- the motto of the Order of the Thistle), you can see it clearly on this photograph (though not sure if it's this actual Hanriot, Coppens had 6 of them or so): 3 1 1
