I might try this. Thanks for posting it.

I tried it but had D3D errors with it. I might have a setting incorrect as well. I did not reboot since that was not recommended. I went back to the registry and changed to baseline and it is back to where I started.

You don't have to do registry hacks, this feature has been there since last year, the trick is it only appears in the list when the game is on and running in your NVIDIA settings profile for IL-2.

Fire up the game, go to your NVIDIA IL-2 profile and set, than save.  Simple as that.

If you have your desktop set to Integer Scaling (even when running it at default resolution) then the Sharpening only options (Sharpen and Ignore Film Grain) appear in the Image Scaling dialog. No need for registry hacks, or having the game running. Switching the desktop back to Aspect Ratio restores the Scaling and Sharpening slider in the Image Scaling dialog.

At least on my system (3440x1440) I couldn't really detect much of any effect from having the Sharpening turned on.

So, I went back and restored my registry value and used MajorMagee's suggestion to set Interger Scaling.  I'm still seeing sharper objects and terain.  Running 3840 x 2160.

Yes, NVDIA finally surpasses the built in game native sharpening, well worth switching that game setting off and using this one.  Be sure HDR is on for best up close experience.   The only really bad thing left in this game is the horrible horizons where the gun sight reticle image virtually disappears and you can't see your own tracers, but it's always been this way in VR.
