Catfish2 Posted July 28 Author Posted July 28 (edited) I am using this account – will ask the help team, thanks. edit: you are perfectly right, I had another account with an old eMail that is no longer working, but does in the game ... Maybe I can synchronize this so I have one login for BoS , RoF and else. Thanks Just one more question: There used to be some configuration window where you could change bloom, antialiasing, shadows, graphics and all that – where is that, how can I open that, or what is the file name? Thanks Edited July 28 by Catfish2
Catfish2 Posted July 28 Author Posted July 28 (edited) ^ This is what i meant. But when I start the "Settings.exe" I get the following error message, so i can't start it: In english this would be like: "This app could not be started, because the side-by-side-configuration is invalid. More information can be found in the event protocol. Further details can also be gained with the command line tool sxstrace.exe." Win 11 here. Edited July 28 by Catfish2
Catfish2 Posted July 28 Author Posted July 28 (edited) ^ Yes, the game starts directly into the green showroom screen. I have deinstalled the game two times , shut down the PC and, reinstalled all. Edited July 28 by Catfish2
Gooseh Posted July 29 Posted July 29 The side by side error has to do with MS Visual Studio C++ redistributable packages if I remember correctly. It was covered extensively in the old RoF forum as it cropped up pretty regularly. Have you run the updater? 1
jollyjack Posted July 29 Posted July 29 (edited) https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/ run the bat file as administrator. Edited July 29 by jollyjack 1
Catfish2 Posted July 29 Author Posted July 29 (edited) ^^ yes I did run the updater.. But it was installing the C++ package that did the trick, thanks a million! Now the problem is that the joystick does not work. It shows all the right movements in the setup (pitch, roll, yaw, gas) but apart from the gas nothing works in the game while flying. The plane somehow flies straight, but when I use the JS it just breaks to the side, rudder and elevator not working, ailerons a little bit. Using an old Microsoft FFB sidewinder II with USB connector, Win 11 here. Joystick shows all the right movements in Windows calibration menu (joy.cpl) and in the RoF game setup, just not when flying in-game. Ok will look through all posts here, maybe I'll find it myself Edited July 29 by Catfish2
Gooseh Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I'm just going to ask, have you selected joystick in the options for RoF? 1
Catfish2 Posted July 29 Author Posted July 29 (edited) ^ yes. Correction: seems I did not, sorry. All working now! Edited July 29 by Catfish2
