auroralane7754 Posted July 20 Posted July 20 Hey everyone, Lately, I’ve been experimenting with different VPNs while flying online in IL-2, especially on EU and US servers (I'm based in Asia). Surprisingly, I found that Stag VPN gives me better stability and even slightly lower ping at times compared to no VPN at all. I know using a VPN for gaming sounds counterintuitive, but for anyone facing ISP throttling or weird routing issues, it might be worth testing out. Stag VPN is free, simple to use, and doesn’t throw ads in your face constantly. It’s not a miracle solution, but for me, it helped smooth out lag spikes during missions. Curious—has anyone else tried flying IL-2 with a VPN? Would love to hear your experience or recommendations. Fly safe! 🛩️ Let me know if you want a shorter or more technical version. 1 1
FeuerFliegen Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Better than no VPN at all? How is that even possible? I'm no expert on them, but I don't see how that could be possible.

Less hops and better route to the game server. It's know fact from ages, default provider route could be less optimal.

How do they survive if it's free? Is it missing features that other VPNs typically have?
