How to access and edit in game operation maps (if possible)

Does anyone know where the tactical/operational map images are stored in the game files or whether they are accessible? The aim is to edit the images or substitute custom stylized maps for use in single player.

Do you mean this type of maps?

These maps, the maptiles are in general the Maps.gtp, Maps1.gtp ... Maps13.gtp

 

I found some of them:
