JG4_Moltke1871 Posted July 14 Posted July 14 A Circus of Bugs I really like the offline career mode but it’s really difficult having fun there because, especially in the 1916-1918 careers are so many bugs and mistakes makes me unsure I spent more time in the cockpit or I write bug reports. Most times I post em on discord because it’s for me the most easy way to send the files. But I will make a summary here, some players may want to confirm bugs or add some. Maybe the developers want to use this list to check off. We all know the western front map is work in progress, may this list help make it a good experience and have fun in the career mode instead of frustration. 1. Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter engine failures. Me but also AI have engine failures and makes the career unplayable and the plane almost useless, it’s so significant I will post it separately on discord. Remarkably, I never had problems like this with the Sopwith Triplane, even though it was supposed to have the same engine. 2. Night sorties while daylight. Many „Night sorties“ in the Bomberstaffel 13‘s Gotha career happens while daylight, postet files on discord. 3. Trees directly on the runway or too close to it. AI planes will crash into it every take off, or in case of Orchey, they spawn directly in front of em and make the whole mission impossible. Heule, Cernon, Orchey have problems like that, this list is most likely incomplete. I would suggest revising the map and leaving a minimum distance from trees to the runway. 4. In artillery spotting missions there is never an escort at the meeting point. Almost in every recon mission there is no escort. 5. Gotha G.V. fuel gauge not working correctly, some graphic mistakes in the cockpit, graphic mistakes with strutters on R.E.8 postet on discord. 6. Delayed bomb drops of AI planes while altitude attacks in formation. 7. Spad 7 180 HP in too early timeframes, posted on discord …list to be continued 2 1 1

Historically it was 30 near the end of the war... Karl Degelow was the last recipient of the Blue Max on 9 November 1918. He had shot down his 30th victory on November 4th, 1918 a DH 9 his last. ('Above the Lines' Franks, Bailey, Guest and 'German Knights of the Air' Treadwell, Wood).
1CGS LukeFF Posted July 18 1CGS Posted July 18 If your career date for that screenshot is 27 August 1918, then you would need at least 30 victories and hold at least the rank of Leutnant. What might be happening is that balloons are not being counted properly as aerial victories.

Jen_1961_ato Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Can anyone help me with this one? I am flying a US pilot career in Flying Circus. Something weird happened after finishing a mission. I got the DFC with one silver and two bronze oak leaf clusters. When I clicked on the next day I got... I have been awarded 3030010. The DFC is gone and the Croix de Guerre remains. Strange glitch... Can something be done about this?

You've been awarded the proper medal for your victory count, but something is preventing the medal from being properly displayed. I've filed a report about it. 2
Jen_1961_ato Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Thanks for the quick reply. What can I do now? Do I go on and fly other missions, hoping to get other awards or do I delete this career and start a new one? Could an eventual update solve this problem even if I go on in this career? May be another thing. I have two Mods activated. The first one is "Correct Awards" and the second Historical Accurate Skins - All - Extra. Can one of them, or eventual even both, be of influence on the sim?
1CGS LukeFF Posted July 23 1CGS Posted July 23 You can continue the career, sure. Nothing detrimental will happen. But yes, I would deactivate your awards mod and advance to the next day in your career to see if it fixes the issue.

Moreover, before I did this, I managed to raise my score in an additional five missions and it has all the looks not a single award will be given from since the problem occurred. I may be getting ahead of myself but I think the issue rises as soon as the Distinguished Service Cross gets an addition with one Bronze Oak Leaf to the Silver and two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. The second week of June I had to delete a US Pilot Career because I got at the same stage and though I raised the score considerably, not a single award was given extra. Not even when scoring four victories in one mission and three in another on the same day. I will delete the career and start all over again with the same plane, same unit and the same location to see what happens. I let you know. Of course this will take some time, lets say... about ten days before I arrive at the same level. Edited July 23 by Rambler_01Jenato
Jen_1961_ato Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Though both Mods I use are associated to WW2 aircraft, I disabled them before starting new US career. After all, everything takes place in the Flying Circus division...

Jen_1961_ato Posted August 1 Posted August 1 (edited) Specially for you, LukeFF... So... I started a new career. Scored seven victories in last mission but... received no award. But admittedly I earned the Medal of Congress earlier because I scored five victories in one mission and got wounded. Can a Congressional Medal of Honor be awarded multiple times in Flying Circus. More troublesome, I think, is the system which decides how the DSC is awarded. Though my score is 70 by now I only got de Distinguished Service Cross with three Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters. No Silver though many missions turned out in three and four victories. Could there be a serious bug in the Flying Circus US career? Edited August 1 by Rambler_01Jenato

I thought there would be some change with the latest update we received a few days ago, but I didn't have the opportunity to test it yet. Nothing was mentioned though in the additional file which came with the update about changes in Flying Circus.
