babymihai Posted July 12 Posted July 12 We have modes for ranks and voice for Italy, Slovakia, Spain which were insignificant on the Eastern Front, but for Romania there is nothing. That's right!
AndreiTomescu Posted July 18 Posted July 18 well, we have now a custom voice/radio chatter for Romania. If you like, check it out, and if you're willing to help improve, that woud be just great. There are several attempts to convince the devs to make a Ro faction, but so far all we have are this user made voices and skins. Oh, and some really skilled guys, from all over the world (Norway, US, Ukraine, Italy, Germany, UK, Catalunya, and others) that are working at some AWESOME missions and campaigns concerning the Romanian exploits on the WW2 front, and lending a valuable hand in creating this voice mod and skins. So.....that's right. If you're willing to help us do more, pls msg me. Thx ! They were much more less significant compared to the Romanian army, that was third largest in Europe on the Nazi side. Of course that it would be better and more game wise to have a romanian faction, but as i've seen so far our compatriots aren't much active/visible on the....forum/game front. ☺️ All the contribution we've got in this matter came so far from guys from the countries i've mentioned before (i think i've missed some, sorry) So maybe that's why..... 1
babymihai Posted July 19 Author Posted July 19 in the old il2 sturmovik there is a campaign, squadrons, names, voices.. can't they adapt?
AndreiTomescu Posted July 19 Posted July 19 That's a different engine. Also copyright issues. I dunno much , cause i'm no programmer, but what i can tell you is about voices: not only that the old ones are in a different format (that can be transformed easily) but in the old game there were hole phrases, in the new one there's a software that takes little pieces and combines them. So it's a different approach. At least for sound, no, you can't adapt, I had to do them from scratch.
AndreiTomescu Posted July 19 Posted July 19 To be noted that all those wonderful Ro squadrons, voices, campaigns were made by private enthusiasts, they weren't in the core game. I truly hope that once the new ro campaigns will start flowing many will be interested and maybe that will spark the dev's interest into giving us a faction. But these are only hopes and dreams. So far all we really have (and i'm quite grateful for these) are: - the IAR, wonderfully made, despite there is no real one left - the Odessa map with most or al least some of the ro names aprox corrected (if you look at the pre-release version you couldn't understand what names were those, were translated letter by letter from chirilic) - a perfectable but functional ro radio chatter - some great campaigns in the making - a hole bunch of enthusiasts from all over the world actively supporting this 1
