How to use Periscopes?

I just got the Tank Crew module, checked the station notes and there are some keybinds to use the periscopes but when I press the keybind I can only see this. What am I doing wrong? I'm using the Churchill Mk IV by the way

You probably need to move your head position around.  Try hitting the Num 5 key and see if it centers your head in the default position.  It should already be in the defualt position.  Otherwise you'll have to use the Insert, Home, Page Up, etc keys to get your head into position.  Once there hit F10 to lock your default head position.
