Quick question - given that parachutes were used in limited numbers by the Luftstreitkrafte at the end of the war, how is it that they're available to all German pilots in all the war years, and not just 1918 ? 

Us poor old RFC types have to burn to death. Hardly cricket, folks. 😉

They are only available now from early January 1918.
