American - Polish Brotherhood in Arms, 1920

Recently, I have been learning more about the Soviet-Polish conflict in the years after WWI.  I did not know about the American pilots who fought with the Polish Army to help defend the newly established nation of Poland.  They helped the Poles because Polish officers had helped America in its Revolutionary War.

Here you have their story told. The famous 303 Squadron from the Battle of Britain came from a fighter squadron that inherited the traditions of a unit that the Americans founded in Poland to fight the Soviets. I recommend this book.
