Moderators CLOD AWC Posted June 27 Moderators CLOD Posted June 27 Mid-year update Here’s a report on Team Fusion’s work in the last few months. The team has primarily been focused on ironing out complex coding issues with the game engine to avoid bugs or crashes for any public releases. As a result, another new programmer was recently added to the team and more recently our lead programmer created a new Beta version that is currently undergoing internal tests with promising results so far. Our mission makers continue their tireless work, reworking mission-building templates for increased area use, historical accuracy, and versatility. Frontlines, artillery batteries, and navigational equipment are just some of the improvements made to singleplayer campaigns. Similarly, an ambitious day-by-day Battle of Britain campaign is being created by one of our mission makers – it will cover every single day of the battle in all its glorious details, more on this in a future post. Updates to the new 1940 Channel map are nearing completion (see March update). Our main map maker is confident this will be finished soon. Work has also been reported on the P-51, with our modeler working on internal structures in the fuselage. See you in the skies! 18 1 1
AtomicP Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Nice one! Looks like things are moving along and it's clear none of it is something that can be quickly turned around.
No.54_Reddog Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Yay, progress, he's saying there's progress! Just for clarity, what I'm picking up is that the stuff supposed to be released 6 months ago is still nowhere near ready for release. Is that the correct understanding @Soto_Cinematics? 1
Buffo002 Posted June 27 Posted June 27 😄 So go help them if you don't like it. And these are just things that you can't say in advance how long it takes. Do you think testing takes a few days in their free time? And as for the single player (which is great for me, I don't play online, only offline) he writes that he is involved in the single player rework and a lot of adjustments and no one has said about it for the last six months. And the maps, which certainly take a long time, are nearing completion. Isn't that enough for you? They are not obliged to inform anyone in such detail. A little respect. And it's not their job, it's their hobby. And that's exactly what I wrote here once, even if someone from the team publishes something, some individuals are still dissatisfied... so play something else for now... 4 1
Dagwoodyt Posted June 27 Posted June 27 (edited) My interpretation of the OP is that "progress" is such that semi-annual updates are more practical than a monthly schedule. How impactful new programmers can be on furthering the VR/VU is questionable. Results are invariably described as "promising" yet nothing that can be promoted to YouTubers who use and have a positive view of VR. As there apparently hasn't been a new VR build for other than "internal" testing since November 2024, I have to assume that integration with trueSKY and ST8/9 remains a distant goal. I often wonder whether Simul may have become restive in its' interactions with TFS and might at some point begin "slow walking" TFS support tickets. Whether loss of the lead 3D modeler is something that can be somehow overcome we don't know. There are certain losses that can cause a project to self-cancel even if the building "lights" are still on. Edited June 27 by Dagwoodyt
Mysticpuma Posted June 27 Posted June 27 With the sad loss of Tamas, I do understand the modelling work has suffered. My question for @Soto_Cinematics is; Was Tamas modelling every flyable aircraft? I ask genuinely because with the amount of aircraft announced for last December's release, the scarcity of any new aircraft (apart from the Typhoon) shown in game is very noticeable. Has any progress been made on the 190's since the last time images were posted? Have there been any discussions/suggestions on the wind shield bar (yes, that one!)? I'm really just wondering how far off any of the aircraft are from being imported. Cheers, Mysticpuma 2

The Fw was essentially already finished before he passed just not imported. 2 1

Can you confirm that there is a repository for his work (and others) so that in cases like what has happened to Tamas, the 190 is available still and needs to be continued by someone else, or is his work locked on his computer (with other assets) and now they have to be started again? This is not a criticism, just a question regarding the work that may have been lost. Thank you for your previous answer.

Appreciate the candour and the update. Tamas's loss is a significant one for sure and he is mourned by all of us who knew him. I recall tangling with his squadron on many occasions in SoW, skilled, determined and absolutely fair minded chaps all.

Though he was far from being the only modeller. The B17 was not his, nor the P51, nor the Typhoon. The (partially) planned Swordfish and MS406 were made by others. I am unsure how much he was involved with creating the newer variants of existing aircraft. He was important in advising modellers and texturers, and in quality control, and in correcting mistakes, and in his knowledge of 'what-will-work' in the game (pixel limits texture size, lighting etc.), and in his leadership, help, and guidance. He also had a great knowledge of the game and of the work process within the team. Edited June 28 by major_setback 1
Lorena_Scout Posted June 28 Posted June 28 The day-by-day campaign is like a dynamic campaign (like falcon bms? ) or scripted? ether way, map looks good with all those marks o/ 1
Missionbug Posted June 28 Posted June 28 (edited) From what I understand while Tamas is known by many as an outstanding 3d modeller and sim pilot he was also one of the few, possibly maybe only member of the team, who fully understood the entire process of exactly how you installed the complete model of any aircraft or vehicle into the sim, what he managed to pass on to his students in the team will only be realised with time and trial and error as they try to put into practice what he was able to pass on to them before he died. This knowledge is priceless as he was the one who helped many aspiring individual 3d artists realise their dream of adding their models into the now Blitz/Tobruk simulation, he was also a great individual admired by all for his technical abilities but also as a great human being, a truly rare man indeed who is sadly missed by the whole team and his family. It will inevitably take some time going forward to find any individuals with that knowledge so please guys give everyone some slack here as far as anything 3d goes, many are still mourning Tamas. Take care and be safe. Wishing you all the very best, Pete. Edited June 28 by Missionbug 5 1
Mysticpuma Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Thanks all for the replies. Does the team know if the work Tamas has/had created are available or are they now lost?

Mysticpuma Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Any news on why Buzzsaw has only visited the ATAG website just once in 3-months? Vanished off here, last visit April 9th and no trace on Discord for longer? Is he still in charge of TFS or has he left? 3 1

Mysticpuma Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Well, as we head towards September and "Battle of Britain" day and then onwards to the end of the year, it's nearly 9 months since the expected release date of V6 has passed. Is there any noticeable progress to report or is December 2026 now looking more realistic?
Mysticpuma Posted August 24 Posted August 24 From Blitzen: "New and apparently last Debug VR beta test patch now available over at ATAG. As this the “last” test patch it may mean that we are close to getting a fully operational ( and fully landscaped,) CloD DW and just maybe a little closer to all promised by CloD Dieppe “Focke Wulfs and Fortresses?”" 1 1

Does the team know if the work Tamas has/had created are available or are they now lost? Tamás was happily married. His wife was extremely considerate reaching out and providing the Combat Pilot team with his latest work files. Perhaps she did the same with the guys at TF. If TF has lost some files that may have been in Tamás’ computer and they have not been recovered, please reach out to me, and I could try to put you in touch. 4 3 1
