BlitzPig_EL Posted June 15 Posted June 15 I just flew a quick mission with the I-153 armed with the ROS-82s. All they did was impact the ground or a targeted vehicle, no explosion. Is there some fuse timing I have wrong, or the range setting??
CzechTexan Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Most likely. Probably the timing fuse is set for too long. You can adjust it in the plane's settings before the mission.
BlitzPig_EL Posted June 15 Author Posted June 15 Is that tied to the bomb arming fuse? Normally I have bombs set to 5 sec. So if rockets use the same setting that could be it. That would make the mixed rocket/bomb loadout less than optimum to set up right.

When rockets are selected, in the arming screen, under convergence, there is a dropdown list for Rockets Range. Options are Contact, 600m, etc.
Avimimus Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I gather that the timed fuses won't go off if they hit the ground (I wonder if they would have IRL? Depends on whether it is a timed fuse.)

It sometimes resets between flights.

I don't think rockets have fuses... the timer is only for bombs. The only option related to rockets is their range until detonation, such as 600m, 800m, 1000m, or contact. I thought that they would still detonate on contact no matter what, but I haven't actually tried as I always just have them on contact since I'm not using them in the traditional way they were used for bomber hunting with indirect hits, like how heavy flak works. Edit: Just tested it, and it is true that you must have the "Rockets range" setting to "Contact" or else it will ONLY explode after it travels the distance you have it set to.
