Microphone connecting problem

When I shut everything down and restart the next day I have to pull the plug on my mic and re-plug it into a different jack to get it to work. Don't think it has anything to do with Discord. Have cleaned the jacks and plugs with contact cleaner to no avail. Got any ideas?

It sounds like it (windows) may be switching devices on the reboot.

Go to sound tab in windows

Check on what device your mic is set too and then reboot and then go back and see if it has changes devices.  

If that is happening, move it back to the device it was working on and then set it as the Default in the properties.
