OK, so you've downloaded all of the excellent Gooseh German, Belgian, American & French skins - and perhaps many other set's as well - via Panthercles's links.

GREAT!!!

So how do you get them to appear in your PWCG generated campaigns?

Well, you're in luck!! As I have revised all the necessary files and provided a download link.

Here is a breakdown of what's included:

- Ace files:

* All up to date thru the ace skins Gooseh's skin releases to date - now including the French!!!

* Corrected a lot of errors

- SquadronInfo file:

* REVISED to add the French!!!

* Corrected a lot of errors

- Skin files:

* REVISED to add the French!!!

- AircraftInfo file:

* REVISED to accommodate the DH4 which Gooseh subbed in for the Salmson 2a.

File link = https://mega.nz/file/3jomnIDD#iIBhnlhnj6EdQPdEOnE6nD0gzEQLjXtK3MVm4X8UJxI

My install path = C:\Program Files (x86)\1C-777\Rise of Flight\RoFCampaign

Adding the French was an “interesting” process as it was not at all straightforward due to:
- Lack of French 2 seaters = SO lots of subbing in with FE-2bs, RE8s, Sop. Strutters, DH4s.

- Lack of French 2 seater skins = If you want to fly with your squad mates in a French recon/bomber squad, then choose Esc. 2 as this is the only squad that Gooseh did a full set of skins for at this point.

- Ace files = Used all of Gooseh’s skins and kept a few of the earlier skins (from Pat Wilson’s skin packs) to avoid coverage gaps in coverage.

- Scout skins = Extensive testing shows that NOT assigning skins to your squad mates will result in the appearance of the default plane skin - in MANY cases – rather than the default squad skin.   So, be sure to assign each non-ace a skin to solve this problem as that works 100% of the time.  And this makes what is STILL the best WWI air-combat sim ever made A LOT more immersive.

So…please enjoy and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but we will be having some single seat Strutters entering the mix....

OK...so these files work for version 16.3.1 ONLY and NOT 3.2.2 as the inclusion of the Great Battles piece kind of messed up the RoF stuff.

PWCG version 16.3.1 --> https://mega.nz/file/a2wmzYDR#iSU8KjsWHMzMBq9SPJ4B_a02oz9DvZCCcBBcu38eNQ4

~ AND ~

At this point you probably have ALL the files for the Germans/Americans/Belgians/French that were produced by Gooseh.  Additional skins from the PWCG RoF Skin Packs will work as well.  Get them here -->  http://www.pwcampaignmanager.com/pwcg/pwcgbos/web/PWCGBoS.php

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hello.  Thank you!

I got RoF recently, after discovering there was no Flanders/Channel map in IL-2 FC.

My intention was/is to fly Northern Bombing Group missions, which was a US Navy and US Marine Corp group with the Navy doing night bombing with a Caproni CA.46 (one mission over Ooostende on 18/08/08) but spending most of their time with RAF Squadron 214 in Handly Page bombers.  The Marines were flying day bombing missions with RAF 217 (DH-4) and RAF 218 (DH-9) from 18/08/09 though 18/08/14, then were on their own as the First Marine Aviation Force (Liberty powered DH-4s and DH-9s) with the first all US Marine raid of the railyard at Thielt on 18/10/14 where two Marines earned the MoH.  As far as I can tell, the unit's final mission was 18/10/27.

I have been searching for an NBG mod and as well as the RAF 214, 217 and 218 squadrons and have not been able to find them (forgotten battles?).

Since you are THE MAN for editing the squadrons to get the Gooseh skins into RoF, I thought you might be the best resource to ask.   So, here goes.

Do you know of and have these squadrons?  Do you know if anybody has done a NBG mod for RoF?  Do you have a tutorial on how to add squadrons so that I may add them?

Thank you for all you do to keep the game alive.  I appreciate the time and work all modders put into their work.

Cheer!

Well...first of all TY for the kudos.  I really love RoF/PWCG and am glad I could contribute to keeping the game alive.

That stated:

- Pat W. did a great job on his program but he did not add ALL squadrons that flew in the war on this front.

- So the NBG is missing, as you discovered.

- Adding squads is not something I've ever attempted and my gut tells me that there is a lot more to it than simply duping an existing squad from the Squadron.ROFCampaign file.

You could try, but BE CAREFUL as only one misplaced character can break the file/ROF.

Good luck!!!

I really wish that Pat would take his addon and make Coop function for his 3.3.2 version for ROF.
