Ships and Vehicles Static/Moving

I'm a IL-1946 die hard (released 2006) which still has a very active community,  covers ETO, MTO, and PTO locations.   I really love what has been done with this updated version (IL2 BOS family) game visually, trigger options, VR, etc.  However.......

 

If you've ever played IL2 1946, say the BAT Mod, you will notice a plethora of ships (Carriers and on down to fishing boats) moving and static, plus many, many maps in which one can re-stage historical battles and such.

 

What suprised me was the total Lack on fan based/DEV mods dealing with the above.

 

I would be happy to donate my 3D design skills to making all kinds of ships/assets for example, if only I knew what parameters with which to work within.  Then someone else could take the 3D files and add the code to intgrate them into the game.

 

How difficult would it be to add new maps?  Why are there only British and American infantry available?

Really new ships are not possible in a mod.

But there is a Warship (Destroyer Mod) in Work in Progress with additional German, British, Italian destroyers that is based on the available destroyer7 / Gleaves ships with modified Armaments and new skins.

The devs accept 3rd party content. If you can convince them that you have the necessary skills and you are determined to create something for the game, they will probably tell you which parameters are required.

From first hand experience I can say that it's not particularly difficult, only extremely time-consuming.

This mod is a simple version that I created last summer.

In this mod you have only one on Destroyer7 based modification.

Either a German, or a Japanese  or a British one.

The Japanese version is implemented in my:

And the German one (with changed armament) in the Kurland Mod (+EMG Mod):

 

The more advanced Add Warship Mod that I mentioned in my reply is Work in Progress and created by @Stonehouse.

In this mod you will have all destroyers available simultaneously:

Currently:

-Gleaves

-Destroyer7

+German / British / Italian  Destroyers
