JG5_JaRa Posted May 22 Posted May 22 (edited) I am trying to set up a Realsimulator FFSB R3L. It shows up in Windows game controllers (Win11) and works in other games, but not in IL2. Input is set to joystick and when I assign an axis under input controlls, it recognizes the axis, but in game or in curve editor, nothing happens when I move it. I tried remapping it to a virtual joystick with joystick gremlin, but that did not help. Edited May 22 by JG5_JaRa
cardboard_killer Posted May 22 Posted May 22 (edited) @JG5_JaRaFor some reason, in IL2 exiting the program and re-starting the program will get it to recognized a joystick in game/curve. Also, make sure that when you used the curve assignment you move the axis the full amount; you can try reversing the axis too. Are the buttons working, or are both the axis and buttons not working? JG5_JaRa Posted May 22 Author Posted May 22 I restarted the game and the system, nothing worked. i moved the axis to full amount and it auto-detects the axis correctly, but after that it just does not work. same for buttons on that joystick: it auto-detects them in key bindings, but they don't work in game. No problems with my pedals.
cardboard_killer Posted May 23 Posted May 23 @JG5_JaRa Just to be sure, none of the buttons work for any function you have tried? (multiple planes and multiple functions) Please copy and paste the contents of you devices.txt file here, as well as current.devices file.
JG5_JaRa Posted May 23 Author Posted May 23 (edited) yes, this also happens for common buttons, not plane-specific. here's devices.txt which still contains old stuff: configId,guid,model| 0,%225d23f230-d9f2-11e8-0000545345440180%22,T.16000M| 2,%221d2d7860-4f96-11eb-0000545345440280%22,VKB-Sim%20Gunfighter%20Modern%20Combat%20Pro| 1,%22186987b0-4f96-11eb-0000545345440180%22,VKB-Sim%20Space%20Gunfighter%20L| 4,%228b38d310-4304-11ec-0000545345440180%22,Wireless%20Controller| 5,%2266eca000-063c-11eb-0000545345440280%22,vJoy%20Device| 6,%22b645e350-063c-11eb-0000545345440580%22,vJoy%20Device| 7,%22c3ceda90-063c-11eb-0000545345440780%22,vJoy%20Device| 8,%2295839410-7b28-11ed-0000545345440180%22,Simp| 9,%22b2c17a60-7b14-11ed-0000545345441180%22,VKBsim%20Gunfighter%20Modern%20Combat%20Pro| 10,%22cfa2e4d0-7b2c-11ed-0000545345440380%22,vJoy%20Device| 11,%22bef96090-7b14-11ed-0000545345441280%22,VKBsim%20Space%20Gunfighter%20L| 12,%2273121a10-245d-11f0-0000545345441c80%22,vJoy%20Device| 13,%2273121a10-245d-11f0-0000545345442c80%22,FSSB%20R3L%20MJF%20J%2BB| 14,%2273121a10-245d-11f0-0000545345443780%22,VKBsim%20Space%20Gunfighter%20L| 3,%22a0c09270-2813-11f0-0000545345440180%22,Simp and here is current.devices: ffEnabled=0&ffShaking=1&mouseAcceleration=0&ffForce=1&mouseSensitivity=4&mouseInvertYAxis=0&joystickFilter=0 Edited May 23 by JG5_JaRa
cardboard_killer Posted May 23 Posted May 23 @JG5_JaRa I have never used vjoy, so maybe the issue is there. Is it possible to disable vjoy? If so, try disabling vjoy, renaming your devices.txt file to a back up name, plug in only the controllers you need for IL2, then start IL2. If that allows you to map the buttons/axes, you can start from there; if not, exit the game and undo the steps above (deleting the newly generated devices.txt file and returning your backup file to devices.txt) to return to what you have now.
JG5_JaRa Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 Thank you very much, deleting the files worked! Maybe too many controllers were registered.
