How to assign skins to HISTORIC ACES ie Richthofen

i want to assign Manfred von Richthofen his iconic red skin.
Richthofen is my Kmdr which does not show up on the skin management roster i did however find his file in \PWCGFC\FCData\Input\Aces which has the following line - 
  "skins": [],
unfortunately i couldnt find an example to copy off of so i am asking for guidance 

i have a custom dds file
